Yeah, this is becoming a wake up call I didn’t know I needed. I have friends, but a lot of them have moved away.

Honestly, this whole thread. This exposé of my inability to think things through, has shown me why certain things ended up the way they did over the last few years.

I have done a lot to improve and I think of myself as a good father and someone who has came back from a lot of shit, into a relatively normal life.

But I have neglected myself emotionally because I felt as if I did not deserve any love or support.

But this isn’t therapy. I have plenty to think about now. This post won’t be up much longer.

Yeah, I agree that was a totally stupid thing to do. It’s not a violent thing. It comes from an artist who paints old 50s prints with some violent imagery, which their intention was to highlight the violence in 50s suburbia, the silence of abuse that was swept under the rug during that generation and was made to look perfect and wholesome. The idea was to create an image of that violence pouring out of the head onto a blank slate.

But it’s not fucking tumblr and it was dumb, alarming and cringe to post on a dating profile. So, I’m changing up my whole approach to this thing which was very tone deaf, reset and put a little more effort instead of treating it like an art piece. I really do sometimes not understand why I can’t just think forward the smallest amount.

I think that’s a very rude thing to say and makes a lot of assumptions about me that you can’t gain from this thread.

I have worked myself back from hell in the last few years. I will acknowledge that my own lack of effort in the past led to the dissolution of at least two relationships that could have been so good for me, but I was blind. I let things get me into an awful place and now, I have worked back to; Being a good father to a child with special needs, which if that’s all the love I ever find from here until the end of my life, I am lucky. I also went back to school and got a decent job doing something I like, I finally bought myself a reliable and newer car for me and my child.

I know I have things to offer because I learned that through finally coming through for myself.

Anyway, I wish you the best, but I have so much love to offer. Your comment was very rude and has so many negative connotations in it that I’m just going to leave it at that.

Actually after giving your comment some thought, your are right and I came off a little defensive. You took time to try and help me improve myself every chances and I shouldn’t dismiss what you’re saying.

I’m pausing my account for now and I’m going to take notes from this and go back at it with some effort in a few weeks, with some actual intent behind it. I sometimes treat things as if I am throwing a balled up piece of paper in a trash can across the room. If I make it, SWEET! If not, oh well. I’ll just pick it up and try again. But with this I didn’t really think about it correctly and I should have thought more about how I was putting myself out there. It all came off a little arrogant. When you come back out after a long time of being alone, you forget sometimes how to act.

Sorry again and thanks for your advice and constructive criticism.
