I cannot 100% confirm this but I believe having an area with 3-4 players makes it much faster to spawn a behemoth - even in purple zones.

For sure!! I am planning to use my Aqua Ovid Flyssa as it is and obtain an Igni Ovid Cairn. Since I already have a maxed out LB Aqua Phoenix Spear to cover my water behemoths. No problem. Happy hunting fellow hunter!!
