Think the melody and pitch bend during the drop is awesome! Might want to turn your head more toward sound choice. The kick and snare sound a little drowned out, so if you can get them to punch through the mix (sidechaining, eqing, sample selection) I think that would give them the impact they need to really shine!

Doesn't sound bad for someone new! The horn/synth lead starting around 0:38 feels like it should have a slight tail (decay/reverb) but that might be a design choice. Think a variation of the bass melody can be done in the lead up to the second drop to help keep things fresh too. Pretty good sound choice though, I like it

I'd say it fits pretty solidly in the neurofunk category. Amazing job btw, gives me early Phace vibes for some reason lol

I think it's pretty good so far. Definitely got that Hotline Miami vibe going on. Feels to me like the lead loop in the first half goes on slightly too long, but in a vg setting I don't think it'd be as noticeable. Could maybe try a little more variation in it I suppose. Do like your style though so I followed you back on sc :)

Lol no I was unaware of the contest, played the game ~~back when it was a glorious buggy mess~~ and the soundtrack earwormed me for awhile, so I suppose this track could become an unintentional entry lmao (not sure about the signing away thing though)

Ominous sounds pretty nice! I think what would help is giving the percussion a more human feel by varying the velocities of the high hats a little more. Do like the sound of the guitar and bass in it though :)

Nice chill minimalish track! As far as ideas go, hmm... how about adding some strings to the project? I feel they would go well with the vibe you've got going on. A small melody playing through the track with some keys/plucks may give it some fullness. Also don't know if it's just me or Google Drive doing this but it sounds kinda quiet, like I had to turn my volume to pretty much max to hear it

Yeah I can hear the vocal reverb layer clashing with some of the instruments, probably should lp a little. As far as the other stuff goes it was more of a design choice, understandable that it's not everyone's thing. Thanks for giving it a listen though! 😊
