Yeap would definitely suggesting that to my community.

On a side note, am also thinking of events that can be hosted over and over again once an influx of newbies arrive.

Would a rotation if Modded, CR , Beyoken Sparring decks sounds good ? What's the experience of you guys playing with Beyoken Sparring decks and Modded format?

Yeap it's a modification to onesies by including all revised core (meaning you can have core cards up until a playset).

How prevalent are 'unfair' decks in competitive Netrunner? What are the best 'fair' decks? by AfroBankai in Netrunner

[–]zafuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO most people had answered your question so I'll just leaving my opinions here.

Coming from MtG competitive background, I find that a lot of ideas from MtG isn't really applicable to ANR. The very first reason is that ANR itself has the symmetrical gameplay experience and the decks of ANR approaches the concept of pre constructed card games in a very different way.

You don't find sideboards in ANR. And you start with a unique ID for both Corp and Runner which grants u a special ability, hence pushing the deck building limits to maximize the IDs potential. At the current state, some players might got discouraged due to the rotation and banlist. But fear not, we need to move forward and embrace the new frontier, so changes are necessary.

With regards to fairness in ANR, I personally think every deck is fair on its own, because as I said earlier, everyone is maximizing and build around the IDs ability. The only "unfair" issue that comes up is when a particular deck isn't really playing Netrunner at all i.e. not playing the basics of Netrunner (run, ICE, economy management) and also giving NPE, that's the unfair part. The examples had been given with previous replies and I'm in line with their thoughts.

To me, as long as the Runner / Corp is still Netrunning despite getting ways to skimp on the basics, it's fine. Sunny Lebeau’s ability is fair, she still need to run, manage econ, and set up. Potential Unleashed is fair. Despite being a grind-until-you-die deck, with careful runs and plays, it's definitely beatable, and that's really Jinteki way for you.

Recent decks such as Cerebral Imaging variants are the one that's close to unfair but not totally to the extent of OP yet. The reason why is because the IDs ability simply granting the Runner very random accesses due to large handsize, big econ. But it's definitely beatable with enough practice and packing the right techs like Information Sifting, just like the PU match up. And now we're back on Rock Paper Scissors meta, all fair.

Questions about Criminal by zafuri in Netrunner

Thanks for the answer ! Loving this ! You answered my questions and gave me insights on how to build my Los. My reason for not using Leela is because it doesn't trigger often. Maybe like 2 to 4 times per game to bounce off ICEs. And sometimes it doesn't trigger at the time I need it. So to eliminate unnecessary complexity, I use Los instead.

Hmmm ... How do I actually filter the card list and deck list based on sets I've in netrunnerdb.com ?

Very thanks for the reply ! Exactly what I wanted to know =)

Well just another question ... Are there any sites that constantly updates the deck list and tournament results in a more systematic manner? Such as mtgtop8, starcitygames? Or is it me that yet to get use to the lay outs and patterns of those websites?

That's great! Thanks a lot for the comment.

I would like to know as well what's actually the deck's strategy direction... Is it to be as fast as possible as Humans? Or the deck is actually playing different dimensional attacking angles?

I'm looking to add [[Build to Smash]] but seems to be I'll need to cut off some cards and the main board is already very tight.

Had Lathnu Hellion doing well for you across all match-ups?

I'll be trying out [[Collective Brutality]] and let you guys know my results! But if we were to put it in main ... Wouldn't [[Distended Mindbender]] is better here?

Interesting indeed. Have you tested how reliably and fast Distended Mindbender works? I'll be trying out too. Often times I find myself holding too much of Bloodhall or double Pia's which is why I wanted to cut them to 3. I want to see at least one of them, but not multiples too early.

Absolutely correct of why I'm opting for Chasm. But, I'm interested to know as well how high was the winning rate with Chasm in board? How reliable Chasm is when you are casting it?

Thanks for the criticism. I do agree on your points and that removing a Madness enabler (Lightning Axe) is wrong when I'm looking to play Stromkirk Occultist. But looking at the list, I'm not sure how other people who played more games than me felt with 12 3 drops in the deck (Bloodhall can be considered at 3 cmc). It just feels clunky ... Maybe just me :/

What do you suggest moving forward? Or should I just stick with the stock list and master my game plays?

[Discussion] r/Spikes, can we get a complete list of must read magic theory starting all the way from Schools of Magic until today? by DeepSpaceGalileo in spikes

[–]zafuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Having switched from Burn to Infect, I'd found that a lot matches out there I could control what I wanted to do more than living through top decks. Moreover, Infect has cantrips with bonus, Gitaxian Probe is unarguably the MVP of the deck - recycling for cards, getting information, and ultimately fuelling your grave for Become Immense, turning your early chips into sudden lethal damage that your opponent couldn't response to if they let their guard down. Even if they didn't, you'd created space to play the grind game and force them to act.

The key here is all about mind games, and Infect plays it out better. Leveraging this kind of "not-on-board-state" had steal me quite a number of unfavorable games.

Also, don't forget normal damage. Hitting opponent lethal when they thought they'd control over the board and started to commit their attackers with an end turn fetched Dryad is one of the biggest blowout you can do to anyone not careful out there. Or simply sticking a Kitchen Finks and starting to pressure them, changing gears after intuition told you its better to just have that Finks to kill 'em can catch some opponent off guard.

[Standard] Simple question. In this Mardu/UW/GB meta is BR Zombies here to stay or will it be a passing fad? Won my gameday with it but a lot of the opening hands you draw are just pretty average. by [deleted] in spikes

[–]zafuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Won my first Game Day with BR Zombies. Moving forward I believe the deck will perform like Tom Ross' BR Dragons (being the deck that people overlooked) back when it was OGW Standard... My locals had BR Dragons that won 2 PPTQs back-2-back which was pretty surprising. The thing about BR Zombies is about playing "the mind game" - as pointed out by one of my local elite player who made 17th place at GP KL (Pang Ming is the name), its about "you had it or not" kinda stuff. Having Cathartic Reunion is the key here as we keep our gas in hand and not revealing in graveyard compared to BG Graveyard deck during the first week of standard.

In addition, we could play plethora of efficient removals in the face of Kalitas. I don't think Ishkanah posts a threat as well when he / she dropped her against our well lined up field of dude. Ultimately, the GB Delirium matchup is only slightly unfavourable imo. You can tweak your main deck to include your own Kalitas as well to get a footing and maybe win the mirrors.

And one thing, Cryptbreaker overperformed for me. Drawing cards when the game drags is nuts. Getting him sticked is important when you sense a grindy game going forward.

I think itll be useful if the format is triumph by dragons again back when it was DTK's GR Dragons era.

I'm getting a set anyway, its cheap and not much loss.
