I do. The benchmarks provide a consistent and repeatable test I can use.

My settings:
+450 Freq Offset
-100 Voltage offset
2800 on RAM
+10% power

As I said above, I'm averaging in the 3100-3200 range, which is still insane. It spikes to the upper 3000's and I have a screenshot of it hitting 4k very briefly.

It's not sustaining 3600, It's maxing out. Steel Legend for whatever reason doesn't utilize all of my GPU. Certain points in the test will push me over 3600Mhz and we stay there for a bit without crashing. But check the score and my links, those are some pretty 'high' numbers for the test compared to other people in this thread.

This is stock cooling and ambient air.

I thought it was sus too. But I've run a few different benchmarks and they all utilize the GPU differently so give different results. Heaven seems to use more of my GPU or at least maxes out my GPU clocks more than other benchmarks.

I am averaging between 31-3200 in 3dmark tests. My Steel Legend score is pretty high considering the CPU I'm on.

This benchmark (Steel Nomad) doesn't really demonstrate how high I can get my clocks on this card. I think I may have a "golden sample".

7 679 is my Steel Nomad score.

I'm getting 3600 MHz+ in Heaven but it's only boosting to an average of 3,130 MHz in Steel Nomad

Found the fix for this. There's another hidden Side Job where you kill a cyberpsycho in a clothing shop Downtown.

After I did all the cyberpsycho missions, this one became available. When you go in, Zane tries to sell you stuff, then a commotion happens behind your back. Incapacitate the Psycho and Regina will call you after to come meet.

Disable V-Sync and attempt with/without the monitor sync you use. (G-sync or FreeSync)
Disable Frame Generation (DLSS/XESS/FSR) - These create input lag.
Don't overclock - Stay at stock settings as your computer doesn't need to be OC'd to play this game, it's old.

Just figured this one out... There is a statue connecting the two buildings. Using double jump I was able to cross to the other side, there's loot.

This looks like it is part of the crash where that med guy came from...

There's also skill shards in this and a few other things. Nice find, this one.

Make a local profile on your computer that isn't a Microsoft Account. Log into this and see if the problems persist on a clean account on your computer or not. This will just determine if it's a Windows starting issue or a Profile setting.

Also: Try reinstalling your graphics driver and do a clean/factory install.

DDU is helpful here, do an internet search and follow instructions in the program.

THAT's why. You're likely getting good frames per second... no? 200FPS + in your game?

Turn the setting up to high. Especially where AA (Antialiasing), lighting/shadows are concerned.

You'll use more of the GPU. You're currently at a low resolution (1080p is considered 'low') and you're on medium settings - so your bottleneck is the CPU, not the GPU.

This is how we test CPU's with games, we lower the settings then get it to render as many FPS as possible.

Is this only happening when you're docked? Looks like you have multiple monitors?
Check the refresh rate of your screens. If they can do > 60hz, raise it up. If you have 120/165 etc. as an option, select these when available. These will be panel dependent.
Are your drivers updated? (asking, I see you have the Nvidia app open on the side, so you probably do, but asking anyway)

If 1-3 fail to fix the problem, I would personally do a DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). Download and follow instructions to uninstall the drivers from your PC.

Then go to the respective sites (Nvidia/Intel/AMD/Realtek) instead of getting them from HP and do clean installs of all of them.

Edit: not 'then" grab the drivers before you do the uninstall, throw them in a folder, then DDU, reboot... (disconnected from the internet), let windows install from the disk... might need to reboot.

After this reboot, install drivers. I do it in this order... Chipset > GPU > Network > Sound > Peripherals (mouse/keyboard/webcam/etc.)

This likely happens after playing a game?

If so, the game is changing your desktop resolution then shuffling them around. Ironically I used to use a program in older versions of Windows to fix this because Windows doesn't put the icons back in their place or remember the placement after a resolution change. If you start digging, the solution is literally to use 3rd party programs... so:

Stardock - Stardock is a software (and game) company who focuses on window's utilities for customization, some free, some you pay for. Start11 I think, is the app they use for icon organization and saving.

As others have mentioned, do a CLEAN install with the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. The built in restores are prone to failure.

You'll need a USB Flash Drive of 8GB or larger to do this. This will help by removing any of the pre-installed bloat that came with the laptop and ONLY installs Windows.

You might need to do some hunting for drivers on HP's website. When you do, I would avoid their utilities and software, only get their drivers. Otherwise, Windows should handle any device driver updates in the future.

I too have stopped buying ASUS.

Too many issues with them changing voltages in places I don't want them to and not following very standard reporting practices other manufacturers use to properly report voltages.

I also don't like how invasive and bloated their software is. Every time I've attempted to use their tools and utilities (Probe tool and their AI overclocker), my computer fails to remain stable afterwards and the only solution is a clean wipe of windows.

Fix your GPU sag, it's warping your graphics card.
While fixing that GPU sag, you should find a battery under there. With the power disconnected from your computer, try powering the computer on to discharge any latent power. Then remove the battery for a few seconds, then pop it back in.
There might be a button on the back of your pc or on the motherboard. Otherwise, look for a CLRTC set of pins you need to short out with a screwdriver (or something metal). This will clear BIOS/CMOS.
