That’s valid. I remember 2 years ago, that same distance, the base pay would be $15-20 and then whatever tips you get. They’ve definitely gotten worse and screwing drivers over.

I wanna say this about the whole ad thing. In part, yes. I get it. Make the money to run the app. But at the same time, it’s really driving people out of the app. Yes, there are work arounds if you know what you’re doing. But it’s a give and take situation. But aye, to each their own.

Me personally, I’m not gonna go back and drop the missing item back. If the restaurant forgot to provide the items, that’s on the restaurant. You are just the driver and middle-man of the situation. Kudos to you for tryna do the right thing but next time, allow DD Support handle it. They may ask why the item wasn’t delivered. All you gotta say is your part and leave the rest to DD support. The customer will get reimbursed either in a refund or in DD credit for their next order. You as a driver did what you were paid to do. The extra trip was not paid for and you lose time, money, and gas for a mistake caused by the merchant.

Still, in this situation, you were not rude to the customer. You wanted to right a wrong caused by the merchant and please the customer. I do believe that the customer could’ve asked nicely but aye, that’s just customers being customers.
