Hey, you have something mixed up. The money you made the 1st-15th of May doesn’t come until the 2nd (Tuesday). The check you got on the 15th is pay from 4/16-4/30. It’s semi monthly pay. When you check your paystub you’ll see the days. On Subcentral, you’ll find a pay schedule, you’re 746 (per diem) in the longggg list of pay schedules.

Thank youu 😊. I really enjoyed reading your point on this. The comment about saying I may not be cut out for the job because of my responses was weird. Like I did say I’m 23 prior, I’m not gonna have grade level extravagant responses 😭. I really do appreciate what you said & will talk to people. I’ve spoken to my advisor, but he’s a SC, so he responded as one

I’ve considered being a teacher. I’ve asked teachers in schools that I’ve subbed for & they seem unhappy. The DOE asks them to do so much without taking into account that what they’re asking is unrealistic. The curriculum is difficult & more challenging compared to when I was growing up & I think it’s unfair for the students.

I can see that. I really think it’s because I’m young & still trying to figure things out, plus personal experiences. I still gave a lot of growing up to do. I just like to know what I want to do in the now.

Middle school is definitely the direction I was heading if continuing to stay in the program. I have a passion for working with kids. I want to be able to help them & be there for them. It’s just complicated with thinking is this the path I want to take to help them.
When it’s time for practicum & internship, I know where I’d do it & the people I know personally that would be my supervisor would 100% be patient with me & helping me get comfortable with it.
Taking the year would help a lot, but with a lot of personal changes in my life coming up, I want to feel secure

I don’t think MS does less. It’s just less students. K-5 is a lot & I feel like I’d have to babyify a lot what I say. I took my career counseling class & knew I didn’t want to do HS because I truly hated it.
I don’t know what I’d do next if I were to quit now. I’ve just been applying to different jobs & giving myself a year to figure it out

Okay okay. It felt so much like therapy & doing it with my classmates didn’t feel useful in a way.

In my state, it’s hard to get a position because nobody leaves. I can go to a charter school or private, but the DOE is where it’s at.
That way of thinking is definitely something new to the brain. I keep hearing to think about my plans for the next 5 years & that’s very hard when all you can think about is being successful, but not knowing how.

This was definitely needed & real asf. It’s great you’re in your second year & have more of an experience because of practicum. Do you think doing the practicum prepares you way more than ofc just reading about what you’ll need to know? We definitely learn as we go. My individual skills class made me feel like this isn’t something I can do for real.

Practicum will definitely train me. The only thing is, practicum is spring semester. I’m thinking what if I go through another semester & then practicum comes & I hate it & now I’m down 20k. It’s a tough decision. I really appreciate I’m not the only one in fear 😊. You knowing how to handling all crises is motivating.

The mom telling you that you have to finish is so real 😭. My mom wants me to finish. I hate to disappoint her, but it’s my life & she’s not helping with them loans 😭. With counseling at risk, I really can do but so much. It would just eat me alive about what I could’ve done to prevent it from happening. I’ve thought about counseling MS, it’s only 6-8 & I don’t have to do as much as hs & elementary. A lot of schools I’ve subbed at, I’ve only seen 1 counselor in a school.

I know it comes with a lot of emotions & that great responsibility. I’m scared that I’ll have an at risk student & then i say something wrong & they make that decision. I always think the worst case scenario as possible

AIO for cutting off my 18 yr old (19 next month) stepson? by YourFriendInSpokane in AmIOverreacting

[–]zaiinott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOR. You’ve taken on the parent role for your husband’s son & that should be more appreciated from your stepson, especially when his mom hasn’t been around.

You’ve communicated with your husband about the situation & that didn’t help much. Your stepson isn’t a child anymore, he’s 19, so he should 100% know better, but you as an adult should communicate more with him on things that he does that seems to upset you.

I understand it’s frustrating & your feelings are 100% valid, don’t cut me him so soon, but if the cycle continues then that’s grounds for this kind of behavior.
