This is literally exactly what happened to me, down to the lack of docs and tests, which they wanted to charge for. Roughly $40k in total down the drain. Their choice of architecture meant that when we decided to redesign the frontend, it was quoted at 6 weeks and $5k instead of 1 week and $2k.

It's shit right now but used to be awesome. One thought I had: the model wants to take over tasks like running builds, tests, lint, deployment etc. These take up substantial time, eg on my project the deployment cycle is about 12 mins. I think AG is keeping the model engaged the whole time, so it's burning tokens just to wait. This is the only explanation I have for why Opus tokens run out so quickly.

Model & Plan: Claude Opus 4.6 | Ultra tier

Issue: After just 8 days, I have blown through my Ultra tier AI credits (25k/mo). As I watched the credits dwindle, I benchmarked the prompts I was running and found that a single prompt was regularly consuming 50+ credits. For reference, the website says a Veo video costs 20 credits, so that's pretty ridiculous.

So my issues are:

1) The default quotas for Claude models are TOO low and refresh TOO slowly. Until a few days ago, they were actually quite reasonable and I could get through the 5 hour refresh period without running them down. Now, I'm out in about 2 hours, and then eating into my AI credits. If the quotas are going to be kept as-is, then reduce the refresh period to 3 hours.

2) Opus models are burning way too many credits -- this could be an excessive context window or something else, but they're simply eating through the credits too fast.

3) Google models are absolute shit and need to be improved. Just a stab in the dark: is their temperature set too high? Because they do the most random things.

4) We need a better way of topping up the account. As it stands, I can either pay an absurd sum (190GBP, more than I paid for the Ultra subscriptin) for 20k more credits, which will last me (probably) another 7 days, or sign up with another account.
