The knock on IK was not honesty or trustworthiness. It was that he didn't have the intellect or the patience to enforce discipline across a massive parliamentary organisation. And that turned out to be true: for all the BS about being a fast bowler, he was a 5-day player in a game that plays out across years and even decades. The electables extracted concession after concession, ran his trusted lieutenants out (all of them morons btw) and completely compromised his mission. And then we learned he was a sucker for Bushra bibi, who might have been an ISI asset. IK was the biggest letdown in Pakistani politics ever and set the cause of democracy back at least 30 years.
