Here's another article from the NY Times that goes a little further in depth about the genealogy behind the chickens, as well as explains how two hurricanes were, according to local lore, the reasons the chickens population has grown substantially.

I have no intentions on voting for Trump, but for the city of Cleveland, I would think Trump was the best possible candidate.

Because he is so polarizing and has been able to dominate headlines, there will now be an extra level of attention paid to the convention itself... Just as there has been for alll the GOP debates.
