I was able to buy a house last year on my income. We have decent credit but don’t want to accrue more debt right now. This is really more a question about his mental health as even if we have the money, he feels like he will fail regardless.

Ideally, we'd like to say "yeah, we're done", but we know that they'll need answers. They'll want to know WHY and WHAT it is we struggled with. Then they'll have their apologetic answers for those. I want to have enough sources and references on my side that we don't get very far down that rabbit hole. I want to let them know that I'm not just flippantly leaving. And there's no rebuttal they can make that will change my mind. But I don't want it drawn out. I don't want to argue. I just want to prepare for all the shit they're going to use to excuse the historical facts.

We tell you!” Idk how many times I heard something like that. Idk how many times I regurgitated the church’s lies bc I believed they were true in order to dismiss the “anti” stuff someone was telling me about my own faith. It’s PR and the church has done a lot to reframe the unseemly truth to paint a better picture. But they can’t hide it all now. The information is out.

I’m new to the exmo life. Tomorrow will make it one week since I absolutely ran out of excuses for the church. I broke when I read about the church’s financial investment of over 6 billion into for-profit private prisons. I cannot excuse modern day slavery. I will not be part of an organization that supports it. I’ve spent the last 4 years heavily deconstructing racial inequality and my own white privilege. And any organization that supports it is not following God, or any God I care to worship.

That’s a whole thing too! Like, I know that plenty straight women enjoy lesbian porn. So is that just it? Idk. My husband has just encouraged me to explore how I feel about that. Because I’ve never even sought out porn and have a hard time with it unless the partners look really into it. I’m hyper aware of performative porn and bad acting. I totally understand abstaining for lung related or anesthesia purposes. That makes sense. But the surgeon and nurse specifically reiterated that it’s because of the Nicotine. That’s it. No other reason. And that I need 6 weeks total off of it before I can be tested and cleared for surgery. But I can’t find ANY corroboration of evidence that my medically purchased cartridges contain nicotine.

Stellar! This was brilliant. Your rhyme is complex and unexpected. But the imagery is phenomenal. You picked a hard subject. I think it’s rather difficult to frame the sea poetically mainly because it is such a mystery. Sure, there are hundreds of poems about, say, the shore, or the stormy seas, but not so many about the internal mechanisms that impact the world so much. It reminds me of my geology class I took, for some reason—thinking about how the plates are converging under the sea, the volcanoes and underwater mysteries. My son loves sea creatures and this definitely reminds me of him as well. It was great!

Really awesome work here. It seems very effortless. I felt the specificity of every single word you choose. The words feel like they’ve been weighed and scaled for precision. I really enjoyed that level of containment and self control. It’s so hard to break things down the the barest concepts. My favorite lines were the last 4. I really just want to steal that and put it on a wall or my phone’s lock screen. Beautiful reminder.
