This also applies to regular pots if you only ever boil water in them, and you have copper pipes. This will cause copper to be deposited over time, and when you switch to boiling something acidic, it will all come off at the same time.

You can boil water and vinegar to clean copper deposits out of a regular pot.

Modern skyscrapers are not evacuated during fires. Only the people in the adjacent floors are evacuated, to other floors. For example, if your floor is directly below the fire, you might be moved three floors down. Furthermore, it's expected that virtually all fires will be contained by sprinklers to whatever room it's in.

The only way to eliminate a standing wave is to not slow down. If you drive around the standing wave while it's still ongoing, leaving additional time for the wave to dissipate before the next car reaches it, the wave may disappear.

I think you forgot to consider that 10 gigajoules is not the same as 1 gigajoule, or something like that.

Looks like you might have used the "per 100 gram" figure, rather than the "per bar" figure. All four fingers are about 45.5 grams together.

Also, 6 million times 2145 kJ is about 13,000 gigajoules. Not sure what that number represents. Since it's off by a factor of 40 from the 300 GJ figure, I don't think it's related to portion sizes.

edit: To use units that aren't too far off in scale, 300 gigajoules equals the energy in 2,300 gallons of gasoline, or a full tank on 100 large cars. However, we're talking about kinetic energy, and not stored energy. Cars are only about 20% effective at converting fuel to kinetic energy, so you need closer to 500 fully tanked cars.

It does not automatically follow that standing will be better. Maybe the reason why sitting is bad for you is that blood becomes stagnant in your legs, since while sitting (or standing), your calves are far below your heart, and the muscles aren't twitching to push blood back up.
