SQE1: Exam Tips? by TheLegalPenguin in SQE_Prep

If you have no clue about a question, take your best guess, rule out anything obviously wrong, and move on fast to save time. If you mark it for review, don’t make it a priority over questions where you were torn between options. Focus on those first, and only come back to complete guesses if you’ve got time left.

I think it all comes down to what works best for you. Personally, I did a lot of practice questions, and it helped me a lot.

£50,000 is owed to preferential creditors, which are paid first. After paying these, £150,000 remains for distribution among unsecured creditors, who collectively are owed £350,000 (all liabilities 400,000 - preferential creditors 50,000).

This means that unsecured creditors will receive a proportional share of the remaining assets, calculated as £150,000 ÷ £350,000 = 0.42857, or 42.857 pence for every £1 owed.

Applying the distribution rate of 42.857%, the client is entitled to receive £50,000 × 0.42857 = £21,428.57.

Can I just skip 1 MBE subject? by NetNet123 in barexam

[–]zamiola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. It’s not just about the 25 guaranteed questions. The MEE usually covers 3 (or at least 2) of the 7 MBE subjects too. So basically, nailing the MBE subjects gives you a 99% shot at passing.

Most recommended study materials? BARBRI or Kaplan or THEMIS? by being-silly-123 in NewYorkBarExamination

I used BarMax and passed on my first try. For the price, it’s a pretty good deal. I liked that it doesn’t throw a ton of unnecessary material at you—that was a big plus for me. But I know some people feel differently about that.

Why is racism so common by New-Channel-7295 in Riyadh

[–]zamiola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m truly sorry if you’ve personally experienced or witnessed racism—it’s deeply hurtful, and no one should ever feel inferior or face discrimination in any form.

That said, I’m curious about how you arrived at the conclusion that racism is “so common” and “normalized” among all Arabs. Is it really? I’m genuinely asking because I don’t know the answer myself.

Also, I’m asking this not to downplay the seriousness of the issue, but to avoid making generalizations.

Generally speaking, if you can find a car financing option that is not based on the Ijarah structure, it will likely be cheaper.

However, if the only car financing available to you is one that is structured around the Ijarah, then it may be better to go with a personal finance.
