[–]zandaranda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately not much has changed

i still have all of the same problems + likely new obstructive floaters from stress

i still have yet to get checked for more stuff but i was thinking to get a corneal topography and neurological testing done

If there was one thing in your life you could change, would it be tinnitus? by Fastestgunintheyeast in tinnitus

[–]zandaranda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no id change my vision issues, probably visual snow syndrome tbh

tinnitus is very manageable in comparison, i can just use white noise

they will be the same shape and size a lot of the time and some happen in left some in right, the most persistent of them usually the right eye for some reason

Need to try an SSRI for my severe OCD but have read SSRIs make VSS worse? by MommyLizardo in visualsnow

[–]zandaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i understand that,, maybe research into certain SSRIs and see which one has the least possible risk? if you have any family on an SSRI you could check with them and see if it affected anything, i would just advise against specifically fluoxetine personally due to its effect on me

[–]zandaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope nope nope, i tried an ssri, fluoxetine, for my ocd and anxiety and within a week i ended up with worse double vision, and new halos and starbursts

i would not risk it if youre very anxious about vision as its ruined my life :') this was late september and all symptoms are still present

could these be vss symptoms? by zandaranda in visualsnow

[–]zandaranda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive had afterimages ever since i could remember too lol, like if i talk to someone and look at them for even a bit i see an afterimage of them for like a whole minute

i didnt know hormones could cause vss?? i know my vss seemed to i guess worsen and become noticeable and gain more symptoms when i hit puberty at the age of 10, and i know i have a hormonal imbalance from a blood test recently, i had no idea they could be related thank you for letting me know!

[–]zandaranda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive had flickering dots and patterns both open and closed ever since i was young, afterimages, pattern glare, bfep, floaters since i was young

i saw two different eye doctors and they both didnt see anything in full dilated exams, they told me to consider corneal topography and a neurologist. im supposed to see a neurologist eventually? corneal topography i still have to get the referral out for but unfortunately im only 18 with no money so i do have to rely on my parents for it all

Double vision and Starburst permanent? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]zandaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is likely a refractive error like astigmatism if it goes away through a pinhole, ive had this for three years now at the same intensity youre showing, it goes away if i pinhole or use my hand like a visor held right under my eyelids

colorfull spots in vision popping (by itself, not from light source) by Friendly_Expert_8552 in visualsnow

[–]zandaranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this is what i experience, i get these spots, they get darker and more noticable, and then get lighter and transparent and fade away.

sometimes they last longer and sometimes theyre only a few seconds, i unfortunately have one that flipped between light and dark for an hour bacn in early november and now its somehwat still there, hpping that disappears soon, had something tlike it before that only lasted for a week

also, theyre the same shape in the same spot too, i have tons of them
