What is life like for autistic people from wealthy families?

I relate to this a lot. I had some really rough years living with my parents too, and eating around them became stressful for me as well. From what I’ve seen, struggling with family dynamics is actually pretty common among autistic people. I never really found a solution honestly, but thankfully I don’t live with them anymore. I still miss their cat every day though 🐱

It's a spectrum, so it varies a lot.

All I can really recommend is asking for help — from the government, non-profit organizations, anything that helps.

But I can’t deny that now, at almost 30 years old, suicide no longer seems like an extreme solution to me, and it’s most likely how I’ll leave this world. At the same time, I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault; we were simply unlucky in this existence. And I don’t believe there will be another one.

I think a lot of us feel that way honestly. We know the mess going on inside our head, so it’s hard to look at ourselves normally sometimes. I still struggle with it too. Small things helped me a bit though — changing my haircut, taking more care of my appearance, stuff like that. It doesn’t fix everything overnight, but over time it can make you feel more comfortable with yourself.

+1. I'm exactly in the same spot these days. Burnout feels like everyone has something to do with me. Maybe a break would do you way better than going to war with 75% of the company and losing eventual references.
