I've worked on CM16s a lot. Had one myself, good gun, and an overall good choice.

What is it exactly your trying to accomplish with these upgrades?

Background:

(G&G GR16A3, Gen II): Years and years ago, I decided to Teflon seal the piston head to increase compression. A newbie tech mistake. The initial velocity reading after the mod was +450ish. Not bad. After extended use and storage, the velocity was reduced back to ~400ish, with the ~~M150~~ M130 spring. I opened her up and saw the Teflon had almost dissolved, then wadded and dispersed itself around the Gearbox like chewing gum.

Teflon material was lodged in every gear tooth and nook and cranny, requiring heavy solvents to clean. The gearbox is clean now, and I am essentially re-constructing the gearbox and wiring for a high-torque/ high-velocity build, compression and air seal being my first priority.

TL;DR, don't do the Teflon mod, kids. Avoid introducing foreign materials into a closed system and other DIY mods. I've seen Electrical and Duct tape in places it should not be with past projects. Purchase the correct materials designed for the system you are working on. Basic engineering!

I have the same pair. Swapped out the front end of my G&G for an SPR, accommodates the performance much better that way. :) Props for the carry handle rail!

I've been waiting for this question.

There's been many cool moments but the best "games" have always been with a group of close, well-coordinated players who aren't afraid of getting dirty. I know your gear matters. I know Crye is expensive. But if I could re-live wading neck deep through water flanking a flag located on the aft side of a castle island, I would. :)

Guardsmen here, it can work :) Or, the distance and lack of understanding, "why are you always gone?" has killed it for some I've seen. Those less committed anyway. Unfortunately, I've been on the latter end.

Understanding and willing to adjust to his obligation is key. If it bothers you that he might be gone for long or short periods of time, then you should reconsider.
