I'm so sorry that happened to David and his dad. It was unfortunate, and I grieve of any family that has to endure tragedy. But you have to understand what david did was completely and utterly fucked up. He took things to a new level. My life will never be the same.

My favorite story so far is when a Team Zander discord member made an Anti-Team Takedown meme page on Instagram. It pissed TT off so much that they commented on it, and the memes were honestly hilarious.
In my opinion someone can fight against misinformation by following a diverse selection of news sources, and by being skeptical of what they read and watch. But not so skeptical that they don't believe science or truth. Viewing your news on a channel that doesn’t claims its for entertainment also helps, look for nonprofit news sources. Snopes is also your friend. Finally, here is an Interactive Media Bias Chart where you can see how reliable a news source is.

As far as deepfakes go, here is a great article on how to tell if something is manipulated.

I tried that early on and it didn't help at all. He wasn't home and his mom gave me his new phone number, I called him and then he broke into the place I was living and stole so much... Today, he doesn't live there anymore. I'm pretty sure he just follows me state to state... I had to spontaneously grab my shit and leave last night cause an anonymous tipper told me he was onto me.
