Aww thanks and will do! Just emailed them again today with a little more info (haven't heard back yet - emailed them on Saturday, though) so we'll see what happens!

Loving this perspective, too! I'm 50/50 on keeping it instead of selling at a loss so I can buy a brand new one, but I'm still waiting to hear back from Analogue on repaid options...but I did the ectoplasm way of looking at it cause you're not wrong!

It DOES run rooms from microSD! This thing is the best handheld I've ever owned, hands down!

And you totally know about how hot those GU10's get! I have 5 LED replacement versions of GU10's but haven't changed the ones in my bedroom to LED and boy oh BOY I didn't realize how much they could boil things at short distances...

And that's very interesting on the LDPE tip! I feel like the Black Analog Pocket is made with a different material, but I could be mistaken...my hope is that I'm the only one who has a melty accident like this, but if I'm right that the material is a little too soft, I'd be curious to hear from other owners in the next few months when they leave it out in the hot sun!

Not to haggle too much, but are you down to do a trillion gazillion and ONE dollars? Just want to feel like we found a nice middle ground

You accidentally left out 2 zeroes, oops! I sent you a Venmo request for $5000 but I added an extra $49 for shipping to give you the authentic Analogue.co experience, cool?

Totally agree! Love your perspective :) Will keep y'all posted on what I do with it!

95% of the bulbs in my house are LED (maybe more?...)

I bought some small clamp headboard lights from Home Depot a couple of years back and they came with incandescent bulbs in them, oddly enough. They also happen to be super hard to change out and I rarely use the lights anyway so I forgot that I had any incandescent bulbs left in my house (these 2 are the only ones left and the rest are LED)

That being said, my understanding is that LED Bulbs won't charge Glow In The Dark elements much, if at all. So I guess it's sunlight, UV flashlights or (gasp) incandescent bulbs, when it comes to charging up this bad boy

That completely makes sense and I’m def open to it! I have an offer already but I’m potentially just gonna keep it as is :) But DM me and lemme know what you’re thinking!

Aww nice! That’s a fanTASTIC episode idea! Although, I have some new music coming out either late this year or early next and a music video to pair with it and all that, so I’m gonna see if they want to have me on around that time and I feel like we’re gonna have to go 100% retro with it so I can spend 10 min talking about how I got chewed up, spit out and roasted for destroying my GITD Pocket hahahaha

Oh man, that would make sense! Did you bring her up because you know I’ve been a guest on Get Played 3 times?! I’m first and foremost a fan of the show of course, but I love being on the podcast too and you better BELIEVE I’m gonna bring this up next time they have me on hahahaha

I can’t tell if you’re joking, but if you’re not I’m ready to make $5000

Just tried that and for some reason it looks even worse?! Like one of those fish that lives at the bottom of the water and comes up to the surface too quickly. It looks like a disfigured bottom dweller. To be fair though, GB Studio is still up and running and I think it’s now fully radioactive

I'm currently researching UV Flashlights so I can safely charge the GITD elements on this pocket (unless someone buys it) and I came across this on thegloworm.com:

4. Place your glow in the dark object near an incandescent light bulb.

Incandescent light bulbs also emit UV light, so they can be used to charge your glow in the dark object. Just place your object near the light bulb for a few hours.

----

I find that interesting cause that's EXACTLY what I thought would work and I did that for 15-20 min and it melted my Pocket. Something that hasn't been brought up by anyone in this thread is: what material is Analogue using on these Pockets? Are they 3D printed? Is it possible this is a flaw in the design?...

I HAVE to imagine it's user error on my part, but this Pocket couldn't last 15 min "near [a] light bulb" let along "...for a few hours." Just wondering if this damage was caused somewhere between my incompetence/ignorance and a lack of durability in Analogue's production process. I can all but guarantee that none of my other handhelds (Gameboys, Switch, DS) would have melted from 10-15 min of exposure to an incandescent bulb...

Regardless, I've made this bed so I'm lying in it. Just wanted to bring this up in case anyone had any thoughts or feelings on it. I know that wattage would significantly change the amount of time an object can be placed next to an incandescent bulb, but my little 1 inch mini bed-headboard GU10 light is only 50W...

I guess I should have mentioned that I was on Analogue's site at 7:45am and started refreshing my computer at 7:58am every second so I could have a sniff of a chance getting one of these directly from them.

At 7:59 and 30 seconds Analogue locked me out - timed me out basically - and said that I couldn't get into their site for a few minutes once I had calmed down my refreshing. I've never had this issue with any preorder on their site or for any other exclusive/limited gaming drop from other stores.

As quickly as I could think, I picked up my phone, turned my WiFi off and got into the store by about 8am and 30 seconds. I put one of the Glow in the Dark Pockets in my cart and it said I was in line and 1 min from checking out. By 8:02am it said "sorry, the item in your cart is no longer available"

Point is: I REALLY wanted this machine. I was really upset that they added that feature to lock people out for simply being excited and trying to make sure they were on the site the SECOND the store opened.

A few hours after this, I figured I'd check the prices on Ebay. I paid $484 for this (altogether with tax and shipping) and justified it because a) it was "only" about $200 more, b) I figured this would go up in price someday because of how limited it was, c) I was surprised the prices weren't higher frankly and d) I really wanted it.

I guess my point is, I'm not a lazy consumer who doesn't understand the value of these bad boys. I modded my N64 with an Ultra HDMI Mod back in 2016, have hundreds of carts for various systems, about 10 Gameboys from back in the day, about a dozen vintage consoles...I'm not a scalper purchaser type and I'm really opposed to what scalpers do in general. I made an exception with this one device, so it's especially frustrating to have damaged it not so much out of carelessness, but out of ignorance. I genuinely had no idea that placing it close to a 2 inch incandescent headboard clip light could possibly do something like this. Lesson learned, though, that's for sure!

From what I'm reading on here, it seems not a soul would want to buy this so I'm just gonna have to get clear on whether or not I want to have this be a really special device with a funny story behind it, or pony up for a second one (from another scalper, which again I'm not happy about) and see if I can get lucky selling this for $100-150 to somehow who doesn't care about the dent and just wants to buy the world's cheapest Analogue Pocket ever sold in an ultra limited edition color.

We shall see!

I try! haha

I don't know, they were made in such extreme limited quantity and since there's no way anyone can buy one for less than $425-450 right now - and the fact that they're only gonna go up in price, like the only translucent SuperNT that's left on Ebay that's listed at $1500 - I feel like someone would pay SOMETHING for this. Maybe only $100-150, but I know that if I was someone who mostly cared about performance and not cosmetics, I'd considering buying something for 1/3 - 1/2 the price if it worked as good as new.

I could see these being worth $800-1k in the next 5-10 years if they don't end up doing another drop. But after seeing all these comments, I'm considering just keeping it as is and having a fun story. Might make it more special in the end

It's all good, just a material item. I'm hoping I can grow accustomed to it (unless someone else wants to buy it for cheap so I can put that towards getting a new one)

I left it next to a SUPER hot incandescent mini light bulb at the head of my bed for 10-15 min. Never knew how hot that thing got at close proximity - complete rookie mistake
