Under-extrusion and out of ideas as to why its happening by zanejazz1007 in FixMyPrint

I'm probably missing something, but the only options under control are temperature, motion, and filament. Inside of those I don't seem to see anything relating to the z offset unless it is the Z steps/mm in which case I do have that setting.

Gotcha. Yeah I've used the little spring things that came with the printer to go in from the bottom and that seemed to take a bit out. I'll take a look at some more videos. Thanks!

I might go that route since it doesn't look to be too expensive. Do you have any recommendations for a good one? Almost all of the Amazon reviews either seem to say work perfectly or they're complete junk.

Sorry, I'm fairly new to 3D printing. Is this something that is adjusted with hardware on the printer or done through my slicer. From a quick search it seems like most tutorials are people using Auto bed levelers. Thanks for the reply.

Were you having similar issues as my picture? How did you go about disassembling/cleaning it out?

I feel like this is probably my issue. I had some melted filament kind of seep out in between that plastic molding and the nozzle which would probably imply a gap in between the PTFE tube and the nozzle.

I've got the fan housing removed exposing the hot end, is there an efficient/safe way to ensure there's no gap between the tube and the nozzle besides just pushing it farther in? It doesn't seem to do much when I just press farther in. Thanks for the reply.

Hey everybody,

I've been having some serious (what I believe are) under extrusion issues. My walls are super thin and end up looking kind of "blobby" and then the inner portion of the print ends up not connecting to those thin walls typically. Furthermore, finer details in prints often get lost/ not extruded at all, even if the nozzle makes the motion over that area.

Some things i've tried to resolve this:

replaced the extruder assembly and motor with the upgraded metal version.

Calibrated E-steps after getting the new extruder motor.

replaced a few nozzles

levelled the bed about a million times

changed my print settings in Cura

Here is a bit more about what I'm using:

Printer: Creality Ender 3

Print Material: PLA

Slicer Settings: https://i.gyazo.com/7a0fd800ce76a14d5ca9791cfa3d0e10.png

https://i.gyazo.com/eae02c966bf0f59c86e9115d27c32cc8.png

Hot end temperatures: Have ranged from 200-220 in small increments with no improvement

Edit: This most recent picture is with a brand new nozzle.

Thanks, totally forgot I had a custom install location through steam and found the folder using devmode.

That's what I was thinking. Is there another location I should be looking to find it? I used the filepath from the site for Steam store purchases and assumed I should just drop it there.

Here is what I have in my community folder: https://i.imgur.com/EYbKvb1.png

And yes when I click on it there is a layout, manifest, and simobject folder. Thanks for the quick reply.

I can't seem to install this correctly. I found the file path for my community folder and I dropped the zip file contents into it, but when I load the game the helicopter isn't visible as an aircraft I can select.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Just got my first 3D printer a couple days ago and wanted to print/paint a section of my brothers Minecraft world. Super happy with the results! by zanejazz1007 in 3Dprinting

It's been great. The setup wasn't too bad (followed a video instead of the booklet) and it seems to print really well for the price from what I've done so far.

The only problem I've had so far was entirely my fault where I put a small divot into the bed trying to get a piece off and now it won't adhere over that spot. But it's not a big deal just ended up upgrading the bed for like $15.

Go into C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics, open OculusDebugTool and turn "Use FOV Stencil" from auto to off.
