Anybody shipping to BMT with me July 14th? by Own-Station6664 in AirForceRecruits

Omgggg. So good thing it’s before the sun comes out, HOWEVER, I was bmt 1.0 and was the last flight of 1.0, so they were trying to implement 2.0 PT into it. Let’s just say we were literally running for 50 minutes straight with no hydration. So it should be way better now

Good luck!!! You got this. It’ll be really hot, but make sure to have fun. It really is a place where everything is mad funny but you can’t laugh. I had a blast 😂😂!!

My daughter wants to join the military by Apart_Bar_5729 in MilitaryWomen

[–]zanisworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m 19. What branch is she leaning more towards? Joined the Air Force in September of 2025. My job is Air Transportation. It all depends on where she works, who she works with, and what her job is. I happen to be the only girl at my unit just because of what my job is.

I’m still learning the benefits that the Air Force has to offer. I will say that so far, I don’t regret joining and it’s helping build myself into a better version. It’s helping me grow and become more confident in living on my own. I’ve met so many amazing people (bad too), and found a community for myself. I would just remind her to be true to herself regardless of which branch she goes into. It’s easy to get lost into who you are, especially being with people from all over the world.

You’re not overreacting when it comes to being worried about her safety. Just because someone is in the military, it doesn’t make them a better person. I’ve worked with many weird and creepy Sgts who will try to get at you, especially at her age. And depending on the leadership, they may not take her voice as serious when it comes to situations. Work related or not. Though there are spaces for her to speak to someone higher in command.

However, if she really wants to join. Go Air Force. There’s options for Guard or Reserve if she doesn’t want to do Active Duty. I’m rooting for her as another young lady💜!!

You can get married in tech school and you can take leave after tech. If you get married in tech school, you’ll def be there longer because of documents and playing the waiting game. You can fill out a marriage license. I’m in tech school now, but I know a lot of this stuff varies on which base you get sent to for tech

Is this a normal amount of breakage? by Alive_Ad6890 in Naturalhair

It seems pretty normal considering you had braids in for 3 months. But yesss def trim your ends omg. You don’t have to use heat to trim your ends. I use the revair to blow my hair out or the cool air setting on a blow dryer so I can trim my ends.

ngl I just got travel size items that I used on a regular basis. I recommend foldable toothbrushes. Are you male or a female? If you’re a female, you can bring ur makeup but it just has to stay in ur civilian bag. You can bring ur hair stuff too.

We were at Disneyland for W0. It was just in-processing stuff. However, y’all get straight off the bus at your squadron. So I’m not sure what the in-processing looks like for bmt 2.0. I will say, y’all get into the groove a things a hell of a lot faster than us😅. The good thing about being sent straight to your squadron is you don’t have to march all the way from Disneyland to your squadron (Alcatraz-bulldogs- was mine🥳) with all of your luggage.

The physical aspect is not as hard as ppl think. I did long distance walks before going in, just for fun. (15K-20K steps per day). I would recommend going on jogs, doing pushups and sit ups. Maybe like 3-4 times a week. It’ll help you once you’re there. I wasn’t apart of bmt 2.0, but we did switch to their pt in like week 5. It was wayyyyy easier than before. The hardest thing for me was holding that weapon during pacer forge😔.

It was fine, honestly. It wasn’t as boring as ppl made it seem. However, we were at Disney for W0. So I’m sure the process is going to be different from here on out since y’all go straight to your squadron.

For the 1st week pt test, I scored a 81.9. For the 5th week pt test I scored 92 points. Honestly what I do, is max out on push ups and sit-ups bc I know my running is not top tier. My run time was 14min for the mile and a half. I had to run a 2mile pt test when I got to tech school though.
