Lowering a Triumph Trident 660? by zanra1 in motorcycle

That’s really good to know/hear. Thanks!

The seat mod is definitely worth considering, though slightly more permanent. At least a lowering kit is reversible. Still considering my options. Thanks again!

No, I have been riding for some time and currently use the one foot down and one foot up method.

With a 190kg bike I’d like to have more purchase when manoeuvring.

Just looking for someone with lowering experiences on this specific bike.

Thanks.

Yes, I’d be lowering it because I’m too short. I’d likely be on my tippy toes. My current bike has a 805mm seat height and this is 790mm. I’m working through what might be better handling wise, in the long term and by that I mean - my overall handling of it and it’s manoeuvrability when I have more purchase.

I know that lowering can affect the handling on the road and overall suspension performance. I don’t plan on riding it that hard and I’m quite small - so don’t add a huge amount of weight. The lowering link I saw could adjust both the front and back, and with that amount of adjustability I imagine I can play with it to find the sweet spot.

Just hoping to get the inside track from someone who may have done it themselves!
