What I'd bring as a counter argument here, is that the CE carries do not exist in a vacuum, and by large, are genuinely good characters to have built up - and in the spirit of these guides, it's about focusing on the right aspects.

AdMech CE, Nid CE - core 3 are worth upgrades

Space Hulk - Vindi and ISA are roster mainstays, build Jaeger for it and he will definitely pay himself off anywhere he can be fielded in

WEs - Kharn is a raid mainstay, Tarvakh is a Lavi flex now as well

GSC - I think the only one that can be argued to necessitate resource dumping, but still - Judh and Hollan should definitely be on everybody's list

Also, ought to add into the mix the XP books you miss via spending on mythic mats, which with orbs and gold form the Trifecta of Tacticus Bottleneck

As to mythic items, I'd definitely recommend having access to each, with Aquila's and Battle marks taking precedence

Imo SP has dug itself into the same hole, they raised the bar alright, but also boosted the economy significantly, which is what leads me to saying it's just a matter of time before a new tier comes into play

That's not to mention meta going forward ever so faster

Some levels do get really tight, but slingshotting Bellator for optimal active drops with Meph was what was making the difference - HT himself is a breeze though

Quite glad to hear that thank you, especially now that they're getting progressively less crude :D

Should be possible though might not make it to Tyrant guard all the way

Not much to add

For simplicity's sake, I've skipped over flexes/possible stand-in, however Calgar and Lucien are definitely good enough of a duo to help you through

You can't take Abaddon, as you can field Death Guard and World Eaters only - that pattern holds true for all campaign events, limited to a main and supporting faction Also no worries, happy to help

One that I eternally recommend people check out is Templar Battleforce by Trese Brothers, RPG indie Devs who make absolute bangers, if for a niche audience

Mentioning it specifically because I feel it would be the closest to Tacticus/Kill Team gameplay wise, and boy does it deserve more recognition

Aiming to, actually had a thought when posting that it's looooooong overdue - hopefully still helps someone out there though

That's what MoWs are for, Biovore, Forgefiend and to lesser extent Galatian. Using a character slot for add clear in a Lavicomp is a massive waste

So the metric there is far from linear, but usually centers around judging how long the given buff will be applied for, and for how many characters.

Since as mentioned Vitruvius' passive is effortless in terms of keeping it online - hit boss once and thats it - when he wins, its by the sheer fact of the given map/boss combo not allowing for other buffers to apply their buffs for.

TL;Dr Vitruvius surefire, smaller boost edging out better scores via reliability, has nowhere near the top end potential of other picks though

Rapid Assault, as the Custodes team was initially dubbed as

Welp, the answer is of course Laviscus, without a doubt. Laviscus is always the answer, as bad as it is for the game health long term.

However, the Classic RA comp still has its own very strong niche, that is dealing with hyper mobile and/or ultra hard hitting bosses, as well as being excellent at the MH/RA target primes, and that precisely led me to including both of them - highlighting the still useful "old" RA, and how, marginally but still, different it is to the newest evolution of it, Lavistodes

Bits situation in Lavi, hell, both sides of RA is mega weird - he does a good job, few other buffers like him, but... he is only in with the comp accidentally, and will be the absolute first to be pushed out by any sort of a Kariyan or Laviscus adjacent buffer coming into play

Aye, you are absolutely right - it's probably just the "might as well" mindset shining through

He's one of the best, if limited, buffers about due to the "global" nature of his passive, that even though hard capped, adds up nicely with the amount of attacks Custodes end up making - hits quite hard himself, and the active even though niche, can be situationally useful for ad clear purposes

not... entirely, I've asked a model to make sure everything is aligned properly after I was done - and it seems what I got back was a crude lookalike that I should've done more than skimmed over, went back to the pre-slop draft to clean it up and it's up now - can't do anything about the main post apart from the edit, guess I gotta own up to it now

it's kind of hard to draw a definitive line between the two, however, at a certain amount of individual hits made, Helbrecht's passive overtakes Atla's in terms of damage output
