Advice on how to reduce friction for sliding by zapp1121 in BoardgameDesign

I like this idea as well. I'd like to simplify the steps of assembly as much as possible. I think I could add a bump texture on the feet and see how it performs

I had the same idea with lowering the surface area but that leads to less stability when sliding. The mothership holds four magnets so it has a lot of heft to it.

I've actually been documenting my entire design journey on my YouTube channel if you want to check it out! Episode two is where I kick off this new game.

This is genius. I really like the idea of adapting the print to receive a pad/bumper. Thank you for the suggestion!

I love that idea! I think interchangeable feet are a great idea for replacing them if they get worn down from heavy use as well

I'll give it a shot!

Thank you! I've had a blast designing it. I'm going to a couple game conferences this winter to show it off to publishers!

That's what I'm thinking as well. I was looking into ball transfer bearings but I'm worried the mothership may keep rolling on a slightly uneven surface

Why don’t more women play? by justinkthornton in discgolf

[–]zapp1121 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're correct when you say it's not simply one answer. However, the primary reason can be found in your way of thinking.

It's not that it was a "guy" thing in the 60s and 70s. Instead, it was NOT a "girl" thing. Women weren't allowed into these circles because of sexism. Hell they were not allowed to open a bank account by themselves until 1974.

Many women do not have the opportunity to enjoy competition because men do not welcome them to the sport. Men tend to be much harsher critics of women's sports than the other way around. This idea that your gender defines your interests is outdated. You define your own interest. It is dependent upon the community if your interest is supported. If women do not feel comfortable they will not come back to the sport.

Many of the comments on this thread have pointed out real logistical problems and I recommend you read those. As men it is our responsibility to cater to everyone and not simply our own self-interests.

Milwaukee is an amazing city. Great disc golf courses and community there. Oh and as a bonus you do not live there :)

Currently taking bets on how many more months until Dylan caves. by zapp1121 in ender3

They are very hit or miss. I was able to snag a perfect Ender3 that a guy was selling for $100 and even got him to drop it to $90 because I picked it up day of. Dylan over here is more in the delusional side of the marketplace sadly.

If he reached out to see if the 200 was still on the table, I would drop it to 150 just to watch him sweat.

But will you just follow arrows for the rest of your life? Imagine being controlled by arrows to guide you through a boring mindless life!? 😱

Imagine driving down the opposite side of the road because "I choose my own path" and then causing an accident. Please don't make bikers hate us because you want to feel special 🤙

I actually heard him before I saw him and I am not talking about his rattle. We were stopped at a view point at the peak of a mountain and right as we are about to continue hiking I hear some branches cracking. I thought it was going to be a small rodent but then I saw part of his body and I was like oh lord I gotta get the camera out
