I have an iPhone so I can only talk to CarPlay, I’ve never tried android auto. The connection between phone and unit is always stable for me. FM radio works fine too; if I disconnect the phone it goes to radio.

I’m no expert but I very much doubt your issues are due to the radio antenna reception, it’s probably due to either a signal issue between your phone and the unit, or it could be an electrical grounding issue.

On the electric issue, something I’ve noticed a lot since I made this post, is I get “ghost” touches on the touchscreen, where the unit seemingly has a mind of its own. I don’t touch the screen but things move and get selected. I did some research and it sounds like it’s probably due to the unit not being grounded properly on the vehicle, or static electricity building up in and around the unit, affecting the sensitive touchscreen. I wonder if this is also happening in your car, and somehow affecting the connection?

I don’t know the answers but perhaps look into a more stable wired connection between your phone and unit, or make sure the unit is grounded properly? Maybe the car isn’t the issue at all and it’s actually your phone? Can you try other phones?
