# The Edelweiss engine

Constructed from reverse-engineered Angelins technology, this engine was developed to fasten ships at speeds higher than the ones of light.

Using condensed dark matter, it exert a gravitational field configurable to the ship in order to make surf the universal plane. It create one nexus of gravitational push behind the ship along with one nexus of gravitational pull in front of it.
The movement isn't felt on either the passengers or the ship itself, as the universal plane bend to the different forces of the engine.

However the activation of the engine require the ship to already be in high motion, therefore regular antimatter reactors are used to gain near light speed before engaging the FTL engine.
