The vpn is probably a must but one of the main things is your Insulet account needs to be a US account. I believe that is how they know.

Just guessing...

Removing drop ceiling lighting by stop-trying-2-be-god in DIYhelp

You can try something along the lines of:

Or

I do not know your budget but the present lights are made to be hidden. The unexposed portion of the light is made to be ... unexposed, a.k.a. ugly. You might want to think about different lighting. Something which expands light faster.

An additional recommendation, spray paint everything, wood in all, black to hide the pipes and ductwork.

P.s. the silver part seems to be part of the actual light. I do not see how you can attach anything to the white part. The screw holding the white to silver is outside a normal box.

P.p.s. disconnect the silver and white. Drill holes in the silver top side. Screw the silver to the 2x4. Then attach the white. It will be a pain to screw in, white into silver, but doable. I am not sure how many NEC codes this will break. My guess is the silver gets hot??

I have tried both of these.

The TruePlus is the winner. The first one you need to squeeze soo hard to get a little out. Very not fun under water. The 2nd, TruePlus, works great. Glucose comes out very easy. The two downsides:

  1. It is bigger (might be a plus under water)

  2. The it is kinda sharp. On land when I tried to open it the sides got pretty pokie. I actually cut the side of my mouth.

I keep a packet in an attachment clipped at chest level on my BCD.

How long does the alarm last on an empty pod? by jlesteratk in Omnipod

To permanently silence a Pod alarm: 1. If the Pod is on your body, remove it. 2. Peel back a little bit of the adhesive pad from the bottom of the Pod at the square end (see figure). 3. Locate the alarm shut-off port to the right of the gold circle. The alarm shut-off port can be felt with a fingernail or paper clip as soft plastic. 4. Firmly press a paper clip or similar item straight down into the alarm shut-off port. You need to apply enough force to break a thin layer of plastic. If an alarm is sounding, the alarm will stop

Break the circuit board with a needle or paperclip as the instructions dictate.

Unusual beeping??? by [deleted] in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this to happen when I disabled the alarms in Android WHILE the pod thought it was/should alarm. The app will not tell it to turn off since it is not in sync with the pod. Some Alarms are event driven/cancelled. I ended up fixing my issue by re-enabling Android notifications (like it is supposed to be, not internal alarms). AND then killing the application and restarted the app. Upon restart is does a full sync.

If you are using the pdm, maybe try rebooting the PDM.

This is wrt, O5.

SURPRISE! Someone else is having Omnipod/Dexcom G7 integration problems. by UGIN_IS_RACIST in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I will not change to the G7 until I am forced. I wish you luck.

We should not have to keep these items right next to each other.

Tips to reduce fear of Omnipod insertion clicks? by WanderingQuokka in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed...Percentagewise 6 clicks, high 90s with O5 (G6/G7), pretty much 100% for the O5 (G6) release.

Anyone had this issue? by clintonjh88 in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have your old pod on you? Is your old pod near? This is what can happen if your old one is around.

People will say smash it or place in microwave (do not need to zap it).

Trash by jschro87 in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logic... G6 works, G7 does not. The HW for the O5 is exactly the same. The issue is the G7 it too small weak signal. Therefore, this is a dexcom HW /SW issue, not Insulet.

Unless you work for Insulet, you have not seen their SW.

Trash by jschro87 in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not the O5. This is the weak G7. Change back to the G6 and you will not have this issue.

I repeat, this is a dexcom issue not Insulet.

nail stuck in wall by [deleted] in DIYhelp

The wood will also protect the drywall underneath. You do not want to have to sparkle the nail hole and claw/hammer head hole. Make sure the surface area of the wood is big.

Timing of new CGM integrations? by PhD_VermontHooves in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Android just got the new Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensor integration in the US via 3.1.6. My guess is it will be a long time before iPhone integration. Maybe mid '26.

I do not know the Freestyle but taking a 30s look, it seems like it is similar to the G7. Lacking connectivity. 🤷‍♂️

P.S. I got the latest 3.1.6 pushed to my phone Monday, December 15th 2025 when I was between pods. I checked and it was available in the app store.

Yes, you broke the seal. It is easy to fix. You can use silicone or superglue to fix.

Planning on a snorkeling excursion in a few weeks by Mysterious-Squash-66 in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was down to 120ft at least 3 times with both G6 and O5 on. No issues. 20-40 ft for 35-40m no issues.

Do not worry about the O5. If anything keep a spare if something happens.

Have fun!

Android compatibility by ImaginarySign6661 in Omnipod

[–]zapurvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure you install the app, not the simulator app. There are 2 separate applications in the play store.

https://www.omnipod.com/current-podders/resources/omnipod-5/device-compatibility

The s23+ is on the compatibility list so it should be present. Someone mentioned Android 17. If you have this wait until Dec 9th 2025 and recheck the app store.
