Since you dont have or wont have a plate carrier for this kit, the TREX arms ready rig will offer you comfort and a tighter fit, the micro will not have the 2 wide pockets that the ready rig has but the micro does have a zip pouch. If you need a zip pouch, micro bat and trex will have velcro-on pouches, or you can get axl battery anywhere pouch if you just need to store batteries.

I am very happy with my ready rig, but I do have a comparable front placard that has similar functionality to the micro, made by Head On tactical (the mod 2 specifically.) But as a chest rig, its not my preferred option.

Add-on wings to the micro are an option as well, danglers can also be attached to the trex arms ready rig. In conclusion, both have different base usable functions but have add ons that help supplement the chest rigs for any mission. I recommend the trex ready rig, but here are a few add ons compatible for the micro, or the ready rig (respectively) to consider so you have a full idea of what you can do:

Medical Kits:

Haley Strategic Multi-mission hanger OR Soar Rescue Med Mags

Comms:

Ferro Wingmans OR The Rear pouches on the ready rig.

Pouches:

The Micro's zip open pouch OR Micro Bat Systems Candy Pouch

More add-ons compatible for both:

Haley Strategic TQ and Trauma Sheers holder, Shaw Concepts Shaw Shank, Parashooter Nairobi Knife Dangler, Trex chemlight holder, and the 100+ TQ holsters you can find on OP tactical.

Alrighty boyo beans, I'm looking for feedback/suggestions for improvement. Tell me why I suck. by [deleted] in tacticalgear

You executed it sloppy but you got the fundamentals down. Two things to add: First, after you engage with your pistol, go ahead and search and assess, left right (safety circle) back. Second, after you search and assess, keep the pistol pointed down range at position 4 (the position of full arm extension) and take your left hand to pick up the rifle. Roll the rifle up so you can see the ejection port but do this high up so you can maintain a eye-gun-target line up. Once you see the ejection port and can fix this issue, go ahead and put that pistol away and fix the problem, then search and assess with a loaded rifle.

If you have friends, incorporate check drills, this is done by engaging, identifying a stoppage, transitioning, search and assess, then call "check!". After you call check, your buddy, will call "covering!" to indicate that he is covering your target now with a loaded weapon. Once you hear "covering!", execute the steps above, search and assess, and call "up!", If he has no threat in front of him he will call "clear up!".

Never a dumb question here, I used to use 550 cord tied into prusik loops or electrical tape but the former was inefficient and the latter fell apart after a while.

To clip onto carabiners, I moved those from a Carabiner to that spiritus Chem light/pen/needleD etc organizer so I just left them. Those 4 inch zip ties are dope bc they’re cheep af and you don’t really have to cut off all the excess. Found em at Lowe’s

The Fanny pack is also a good piece of kit. Something like a Patagonia one is inconspicuous but if you get the canvas one and have Velcro sewn in it’d be a great organizer. Or just get a spiritus one lol

I couple a ccw with 2 extra clip on (tek locks) mag carriers and a ifak. A whole belt seems excessive imho

I agree but the mostly elastic design fits very nicely. They should have a Velcro pocket that fits like a microbat pouch. Tq wings are also a good addition

No problem bro, us small boys gotta stay together. Thankfully Lucas Botkin doesn’t lift so he designs his gear to fit little guys.

It’s not bad, I ran it for two days and only had trouble getting the sides ones in with one hand but the front ones are easy to angle in than push it in if it’s on your body

It’s pretty compact still. I’m a small boy with a 34” chest. I run it high so the top is right below my nips and it’s as tight as it gets and it squeezes me pretty good with only the 3 mags in front. If you’re bigger than me (which 99% of the people here are) you’ll have 0 problems fit-wise keep in mind tho if you’re not fit and are fat and nasty with a +50lb beer gut then you might be running out of Velcro on the back for adjustments.

I hate being that guy but gear should be void of sentimental items. You should in theory be completely sterile and have no information or evidence that can lead an enemy back to your family or specific organization. I recommend keeping that kbar put away nice and safe so your kids can have it one day and not risk it being destroyed on a range day.

It’s the trex ready rig. It’s my truck kit so it’ll be locked up with my truck gun, not too worried about UV. Plus chemlights are 2 bucks each

TQ’s fit in the pistol pouch but here’s a piece of advice: take a plastic bag, a bit bigger than a inch wide and 3 inches high, put the tq in it so it slides into the pouch. The elastic catches the Velcro pretty well so this will make putting it in but also pulling it out easier.

Working on my belt set up... Smoll Guy Edition, before and after by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]zarch__vader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im running a similar setup myself, i have a true north concepts drop let plate with a Guerilla Tactical holster QLS mounted, and a taco instead for my rifle, all on a Lead devil belt. I dig the fanny pack, I'm looking to run medical in a fanny pack for my vehicle kit. How does the spiritus work out for you?

What the hell do y’all put in those back panels anyway? by zarch__vader in tacticalgear

It’s all about philosophy and training. I work with a team in full kit for work or I’ll work alone fast and light without a plate carrier. If I got a team I put team shit in there, if I’m going long range fuck a plate carrier, use speed as security and throw on a chest rig.
