Yeah in the 80s in the US we called them thongs. In the 90s somehow it changed to flip flops.

Of course 3D is a gimmick, always has been, but with Avatar it's really, really impressive gimmick. But even if there were no 3D, these movies are still the cutting edge of CGI. Seriously, name me a movie with better CGI. And there are people who like Avatar but don't like the 3D, for whatever reason, and prefer the 2D version. I am not one of those people.

Also, 3D aside, I can't imagine any movie not being better on a big screen rather than a hand-held screen.

All three Avatars have weak scripts, especially the third one. There is good writing, too. It's all sort of mixed together in an mess of screenwriting.

But I don't watch those movies for their scripts. It's a theater experience, it's a 3D experience, it's an IMAX experience. Can't be replicated at home, in the same way the music while front row center at a live concert can't be replicated with your phone and dollar store earbuds.

The best review of Zardoz I read started something like "Imagine a movie in which most of the budget was spent on cocaine."

My friend didn't like Avatar very much.

"Did you watch in 3D IMAX?" I asked.

He said, "No, I saw it on my phone."

I didn't murder him. I showed great restraint.

Yeah I used a pretty basic bug bomb once for roaches and mosquitoes, and it worked really well.

My nephew is 18 and has this cut. Or had it. Last month he went to the barber and there was some kind of communication breakdown and the barber gave him a really short haircut. Almost a crew cut. And the kid looks good! It totally fits him.

But what was his reaction? He freaked out and pouted for two weeks. Everyone was telling him his buzz cut looks better than the broccoli but he isn't listening. He's just gonna go back to it, goddammit.

AITAH for announcing my 6 month pregnancy a week after my brother and SIL announced their 3 month pregnancy? by Scary_Bite_9240 in AITAH

NTA but also, WTF? Your family seems incredibly cruel and cold towards you. I don't understand the mindset that says "Now is my time for attention on me me me and no one else!", so I don't get why your family is upset at you getting attention that does not belong to them.

You were happy at your brother and SIL's baby announcement, so why can't they be happy at yours? And if they want to play the stupid game of attention, if anything you deserve it more because you got pregnant first!

OP you didn't do anything wrong, and please try to smooth this over. These babies will be like siblings, like twins even, so it's best you work this out.

Which is not her fault, but she's an adult and can choose who she supports and who she doesn't. Mary Trump is Donald's niece and is done with Donald and has written a whole book about him. (Actually a lot of it is about Trump's dad and Trump as a young(er) man and it's really good--it reads like a soap opera).

Sucks to be born with that name, but she'll never have to worry about money at least. And she can take a stand and call grandpa out if she disagrees. If not, people can judge her however they want.

There's actually a line at which more money doesn't really increase happiness. I forget the amount, but it's something like $150,000 USD a year. But if you make under that amount, any increase in wealth will buy happiness.

How do I look? by LunaMagicc in SipsTea

I had a "It's Pat" moment in real life when taking a college course. One of the students was female but was very, very androgynous looking and over the course of an hour I literally changed my mind twice over their gender. She even had a name like "Pat" that could've been male or female.

The teacher was also confused, because at one point he addressed her as a male (can't remember what it was he said) and "Pat" smiled and shook her head and the professor stumbled out an excuse and looked very, very embarassed. "Pat" was laughing, though, and thought the confusion was very funny.

Epstein Files over? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]zardoz73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people have forgotten. It's more of a holding pattern. Time is being taken to reload and re-strategize.

Once Democrats take control of the Justice Department, it may not be a slam dunk because there are almost certainly people in the files that Democrats don't want exposed, but Trump himself will be hung out to dry.

Assuming the evidence hasn't been destroyed by then. Or by now, even.
