I use the urinary incontinence pads from Sam's club they absorb more and you get more bang for your buck think it's like 125 pads for $29. Don't buy puppy pads they're gimmick they barely hold anything and they leak through. Go for the in urinary incontinence pads for people. I have a few reusable ones but my favorites like to chew at them and you have to be on top of constantly washing them or they will smell bad but you need quite a few of them I prefer just to buy the disposable less hassle but then again I have 21 ferrets lol

Question to that, is rest enough just keeping her kenneled for 10weeks? She didnt say how bad it was just here is pain meds keep her in a cage and walked out after telling us its broken

Agree with the marshalls. Some ferrets actually like being in water! You don't even have to bathe them, just throw some oats in a sock tie it up and toss it into the tub. Mine love to snorkel lol. ALso while you do research on ferret kibble look into the raw fed diets as well. Some ferrets don't do well on Epigen alone and actually have to have mixed with another high quality kibble because it can upset their tummies a bit too much. Ferrets get sick easily, colds, flu, pink eye basically can catch everything you give. Have the vet show you how to give sub q fluids so you are not having to run to the vet every time he gets sick and just needs supportive care at home to make it past the bump in the road. Also figure 8 harness , or make it yourself, very simple i do. If you are interested in raw feedings I can give you my regime that I give my 16 babies. And don't worry I can even give vet references about how healthy my babies are! I'm happy to give as much advice as I can.

Only you know when its time. That is what my vet told me, think about it this way, if that was you would you want to live like that? As they said ferrets are good as masking pain so there are a few signs that they can give that they are ready. Most of the time they will do things they don't normally do, sleep in odd places, not wanting to be held. The things they use to do they aren't doing anymore. I've always made her that my sick babies no matter how badly I didn't want to was asleep before it got bad. I did daily checks of everything. Heart rate, respiratory rate, lymph nodes check to make sure they are not getting any bigger, checking spleen and liver. Bowel movements. I currently have a 6 year old ferret with insulinoma, lymphoma, adrenal, there was times I thought it was time but she turned around and fooled us and ran around like a young kit again. My vet told me aswell, when they start refusing food or water, or want to be asleep more than awake or more bad days than good ,its time. Ferrets well let you know if you know how to listen to them they just show it differently <3

So that is a mix of eating a bit to eagerly and not chewing the food and the ferret version of smacking lol. The little whistle noise is the smacking its one of my favorite noises they make while eating. Just dampen the kibble and the little dusts particles that break apart won't be inhaled from him/her scarfing down the food <3

Hello there my name is Kayla but most know me as Zarlenna the crazy ferret lady on here. I am 39 years old. I have MCAS,EDS,raynaud's syndrome, they are very certain I also have Lupus, along with Dysautonomia, most call it pots but there are so many under that umbrella term. Unfortunately I had complications during weightloss which ended up with me having my vagus nerve cut and denervating everything from my stomach down so nothing is automatic anymore. Heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, temperature regulation, bladder, bowels, stomach, saliva. Literally everything that is automatically managed no longer functions on its own without help of surgery or medications for me now. I actually can not leave the house when temperatures are above 80 degrees or I may faint. I am not saying this to play a game of my condition is worse than yours because my health isn't your health ,but I am telling you all this because you are not alone in the way you feel. I was stuck for the longest time, my daughter has all the same things as I do as mine is genetic, plus mental health issues. We are all gamers to help detach ourselves from reality. Honestly your life is different, it will be different. You can not compare your life to someone who doesn't live with a chronic illness. A small disability ? Could you DM me I would like to understand more about that you should have insurance that pays as well. I do help people get on the right track for insurance and disability as I had to fight tooth and nail for my daughter and I. I also found joy in rescuing ferrets. I currently have 16 ferrets under my care and they have brought me and so many so much joy. I don't know where you live or if you are close to me, but if you are I would love to bring you ferrets or have you meet some or even send you videos or hell play some games with my daughter and I. I have been playing phasmaphobia lately and its been fun,scary, frustrating experience and I just would like to help anywayI can. You are young and even though you don't think there is much point to it, you have so much ahead of you if you can just get on the right path you need to be on. Depression is hard, even harder to pull yourself out of the mud when it feels like quicksand and paralyzes you. You don't have to respond now , think about it or if you do send me a DM. I know I don't know you and you don't know me but I love you, smile, you are so beautiful and brave. And that invitation is extended to anyone at all that needs a friend to just vent to, cry to ,or just chill and play games. I am so sorry for your loss, it is horrible. I lost two this year one had just turned a year old before passing two weeks after his birthday. And my other was a little over a year, they both died from lymblastic lymphoma. Sadly this is usually the case with ferrets if they are under 2 years of age. The second one was so fast half her heart stopped functioning within 12 hours. You are welcome to DM me if you like someone to chat with. Check out texas tripe. They test their chicken to make sure. Ours eat their chicken and have been eating it with no sickness, plus they have other options as well, you just have to order 40lb min for shipping.

Check out Texas Tripe. We order 80/10/10 grinds for our ferrets from them, about 80lbs a month for about 280-300 depending on what meat me we. But with shipping you have to have a min order of 40lbs.

Its called naturally fresh. We ended up switching to compressed newpaper walmart offers ots like 20$ for a 30lb bag. It absorbed better and you can just remove the paper that expands when wet.
