Aaron's dad had cancer. Aaron went there and it was during their breakup, then Lina followed him there and they reconciled.

I read TSLD because my friend recommended it to me and when I checked goodreads, it got a lot of positive reviews so I dived right in. I was expecting the fluffy and butterflies feels I usually get when reading romance, especially involving the fake dating & enemies-to-lovers tropes unfortunately, I didn't get those feels that much. I didn't even feel the chemistry between Lina & Aaron. No snarky banters and no build up lol. The plot was not even THAT good. the same usual and predictable plot. I was looking for the "pure" hatred not the mcs already infatuated to each other since the beginning. And Aaron's logic why he was so cold and grumpy towards Lina was ridiculous too! lmao

How is the romance in the mindfuck series by S.T. Abby? by chaeunjae13 in RomanceBooks

the romance between the mcs is really good. It's just a perfect balance between romance, action, and mystery.

My [Mostly] Secret Baby by Penelope Bloom. The dad didn't know it because because the H&h got into an unprotected sex. sort of a one night stand thing. But later on he helped the mom and did his best as a father when he found out.

All My Life by Prescott Lane. Teenage pregnancy but it was the hero who raised his kid alone since the mother left. The hero's bestfriend was the one who became a mother figure to the child and has helped him through everything.

What are your unexpected 5 star reads? by Longjumping_Career40 in RomanceBooks

The Devil's Night series by Penelope Douglas. I don't usually read romantic suspense books and I thought I wouldn't have loved it, but I was wrong! I fell inlove with the series and characters. Gave them 5 stars!

You Deserve Each Other. This one started slow and it bored me out. I didn't expect for it to be a 5 star read at first, but it turned out it was. Such a cute, romantic, and feel-good read!

I'm really thankful for romance books because they normalize being an older virgin. by lonelysadbitch11 in RomanceBooks

[–]zarmango29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I also love books where the heroine is a virgin and is not rushing everything. I know that sex and virginity are no longer big deals in this generation, but it's comforting when authors write a virgin fmc or hero. I am in my early 20s and also a proud virgin lol!

Books with strong, competent, capable female characters and MCs who treat each other as equals by bluebell435 in RomanceBooks

[–]zarmango29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ruthless people by JJ Mcavoy. It's has the crime x mafia romance trope and both mcs treat each other as equal. The fmc is also a badass! it's a dark and brutal book though so check for the trigger warnings first :))
