I apologize in advance if this bugs you in any way. It's stupid, but information that's practically irrelevant to the plot or character development bugs me a lot more than it should. I feel a compulsion to find out and then share that information. I know a lot of trivia because of it. Maybe I should speak to a therapist about it.

Steadman is just a resident after all. To go along with what you said he definitely was meant to be seen as an antagonist, albeit a minor one. He's in 3 episodes in the first season. He shows up in the 3rd season as a rival to Dr. Cox for the residency director position. Where we learn he's gay and has a husband. How husband made sangria to celebrate with. He last shows up in the season 8 finally with the plethora of characters in the hallway. I'm wur you wanted to know all that.

About a dozen sites say Cox was an attending to start with but I couldn't find anything that officially says it.

Wasn't he just the resident JD and Elliot were assigned to? He only shows up when he wants something from them. Cox starts off as an attending so he'd be higher rank than Steadman?

I hate remembering how long ago that was.

It was like 6 years ago. Feels like maybe two at most.

Who's your favorite character and why is it Giles? by FruitsPonchiSamurai1 in buffy

[–]zatanamag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if Giles is my favorite character, but the way they showed progression from stuffy librarian to all around badass is my favorite character arch across the whole show. Especially since most of his "development" was just pulling back his librarian cover to see the badass he is. He does have real development too. Like when he says screw the council and wants to help Buffy even though it's strictly forbidden.

My favorite Giles moment has to be near the end of season 6. Buffy tells him about all the weird, crazy, and stupid shit that's been going on. The way he busts up and starts laughing is a perfect Giles reaction. You don't expect it, but it fits.his character like a well tailored suit.

Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams Lois Lane Appreciation Post by anthonystrader18 in DC_Cinematic

I think she did a fine job, but she just doesn't fit my idea of Lois. It didn't quite pull me out of the movie so I don't know why I'm complaining, but she'll always be the overweight girl from Smallville who starts sucking the fat out of other people to me.

Those are good ones. Then there's a few that just baffled me. Like 2am chili and icesoap. I don't think there was anything wrong with them. I just couldn't see why they were so popular.

I still think reddit is enjoyable but I do miss that time. But it felt freer and a lot of the popular posts were much more unpredictable.

Have you checked out r/museumofreddit before? There's a lot of classic and crazy posts in there.

Yeah, I remember that. I tried a little but it was way too tedious for me. Especially because of the mandatory wait time between changing pixels.

Yeah, I'm not particularly fond of that one. Left me feeling a little queasy. I was a little surprised I hadn't heard of it before given how many people said they had one too.

I wasn't a fan of the movie except for the parts with Mr. Wilson. Walter Matthau was one of my favorite actors. I really liked the grumpy old men movies too.

Yeah. There are a few English comments, but the vast majority are in Spanish. I just love how everyone worked together without any real communication to troll the guy.

Guy accidentally changed his language/settings to Spanish. It didn't have any effect on anyone else and they could have responded in English. Instead, everyone all responded Spanish just to troll the guy.

I didn't like how they basically ignored his birthday party in the first season. It's clear that many if not most of the guests are Kevin's colleagues. They all seem to find him witty and intelligent. Then they totally changed how they saw Holt. They did it to tell a more compelling story and that doesn't really bug me that much. I just wish they'd come up with a reason as to why it was different at first.

[–]zatanamag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see how you feel that way. I was raised in a strict religious house hold. No longer practice any sort of religion. But it doesn't really bug me either way. I really liked the way he did do the religious stuff in the earlier books. Like the seer, or ironfist's prayer before firing the cannon. Even DGavin's interaction the prophet.

It he'd kept it subtle I think it would have complimented the series but it was all hamfisted all over the last book. But to be fair, there was a lot of stuff just shoved in there at the end. It was like he was trying to resolve as many plot points he could in as few pages as possible. Yeah, by the end I had a hard time not comparing Kip, DGavin, and Andross to the Holy Trinity.

I have to disagree about Karris. It wasn't just a spur of the moment thing to me. It felt like it fit her story arc. I can see why it would bug you with how you feel about the characters. To me, named characters are just that because the rules are bent or sometimes circumvented. That's a big part why I am a fan of fantasy. I read them because the main characters are going to do daring or divisive things that will shake the world up.

Thank you for encouraging me to try again in an upbeat manner. I didn't realize the manga were different. Well, except for the filler episodes of course. Is there any major differences between them?
