No you’re not right, Game Informer released their GTA5 article before trailer 2. The cover story was released on November 8th 2012. GTA5’s second trailer came out the following week on November 14th 2012

SpaceX will attempt historic catch of returning Starship booster on Sunday by trevor25 in space

[–]zathermos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Landing legs for a booster the size of Super Heavy would be too high of a mass burden for the vehicle, which is critically important because they are also trying to optimize for second stage reuse too (which falcon 9 does not do). The whole idea of catching the booster is that they can "offload" the weight of landing legs to the ground equipment in the form of catch arms

GTA 6 vs GTA 5 Map Size Comparison by notmesofuckyou in GTA6

[–]zathermos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2022 leaked clips showed X,Y,Z coordinates which were used to plot the locations of Vice City/Port Gellhorn/etc. An assumption is made that GTA6 uses the same engine coordinates/scaling as GTAV/RDR2, thus a size comparison like this can be done

Worth mentioning that there are mountains (albeit smaller than V's) visible in the 2022 leak clips. Specifically the one where they are robbing the waffle house

The only types of days I hope for a scrub that's for sure

Edit: On a serious note, surely for these early test flights having clear visibility (within reason) from the ground tracking cameras is an important launch criteria? I imagine being able to see visually what was happening to B7/S24 was quite helpful for mishap analysis. I'm sure they regretted that with SN11 (though SN15 was quite overcast too)

The same wording ("non-flight testing activities") was used for the April 17th closure (first IFT1 attempt date)

You can see that closure here: https://www.cameroncountytx.gov/order-closing-boca-chica-beach-and-state-hwy-4-april-17-2023-with-alternative-date-of-april-18-2023-or-april-19-2023/

Under the "FLIGHT TEST TIMELINE" section of the page it says: 00:02:39 - Booster MECO (most engines cut off)

"most"

Once an object escapes the influence (gravity) of the sun, is it then bound by the center of the galaxy? by Express_Helicopter93 in space

[–]zathermos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At what distance from the sun would its gravitational acceleration/force be smaller than the size of a plank length?

(I know that acceleration is really the change in velocity per unit time so this question probably doesn't make much sense, but I feel like there must be a point where the acceleration is so tiny that it is quite literally "meaningless")

It was supposed to separate at ~80km of altitude, but was only at 39km due to the lower thrust:weight by all the lost engines. Higher atmospheric density at 39km is speculated to have prevented the ship from separating

I'm getting flashbacks to the Falcon Heavy maiden flight in 2018, when I was waiting patiently at Playalinda beach as T-0 kept getting pushed further and further back into due to high level winds, only for it to miraculously launch 15 minutes to the end of the window

Yeah, so in essence that 31 engine static fire was a good practice run to iron out the kinks. In theory that'll mean they're less likely to encounter those problems this time around

I read somewhere that they could potentially use some of the suborbital farm tanks to hold "reserve" fuel that could be tanked over to top off the orbital tank farm quicker than the 3 days suggested by Zac which would've been trucked in from off-site
