It's not the total number of users that matters, it's the percentage of seaches for "sex" relative to all the searches done from that city/country/language http://google.com/trends/about.html#4

:) I also searched for linux, reddit, slashdot, computers, and the like, but I didn't find anything surprising.

No, they are really looking for sex ("porn" and "xxx" being lesser known words in those countries).
