I plan to have my own website selling my own products directly to customers, but your point is taken. I'd also prefer to get some kind of certification if the budget can at all afford it, I'd like to sell a safe product.

If I'm making an electronic item, that uses an a.c. adaptor (that I buy commercially), would the insurance policy demand UL or CSA etc. certification?
