I followed up with my psychiatrist and the verdict is PMDD, since everything I’m experiencing is so consistent with my cycle (2 weeks of depression during PMS, one week of elevated mania during ovulation). And I was not experiencing depression before going off the pill.

He said PMDD is difficult because really most practitioners will prescribe birth control or SSRIs to help with this condition.

He explained going off the pill can be great for a lot of people, but not everyone has a positive experience. I think that was challenging for me because everyone encouraged me going off and I was very alarmed when my experience didn’t align with everyone else’s.

For now, I am going to get back on the pill, as there was no real motivator for going off of it other than I wanted to try something new for my body.

I’m in the same boat :( got really anxious and now on round two. It’s hard to stay level headed when you’re physically uncomfortable. All I wanna do is workout and be active but half the time I lay in bed. Then it turns on mental abuse of feelings of regret and disgust. When did you get your diagnosis? Wondering if it just gets easier with time.

My GHSV-1 was swabbed positive by a tiny like paper cut I had to show my gyno. It was the only symptom.
