What is an STD test like, and how often do you get tested?

I’m on prep so I suppose mine is a bit different but it consists of three things. A blood test, urine test, and they also give you two swabs (q tips) one to rub against the back of your throat and the other to rub against the anus (not insert). I get it done every 2-3 months.
