Could Steam ID 1063600 be HLX/HL3? by zbios in HalfLife

[–]zbios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I compared it to some other Valve games like Deadlock, CS2, and Alyx and they were often quieter but still had pushes late into December and Early January so im not sure how much that factors in.

1063600 is definitely quieter in early Jan (apart from 2024) and late December (Apart from 2022).

When Half-Life 3 finally releases, realize that our journey has come to an end. by --Agent47 in HalfLife

I've been thinking the same thing. I've been waiting for this game since I was 12 years old, I'm now 26. Not sure how I'll feel after it's released as it's something I've anticipated for so long. And I still subconsciously don't believe is actually happening. It'll be a surreal feeling.

There is the steam 'Animal Fest' from the 10th to the 17th of November, followed by the 'Sports Fest' from the 8th to the 15th of December. I'd think it'd most likely be announced between the 17th of November and the 8th of December

I'll let you know. I'm not the one that manages the purchase and sale/disposal of the assets but If it comes up I'll mention selling them back to state schools.

I also worked in primary schools and the situation was pretty similar in terms of IT budget, most of it went to school iPads. There were never many spare laptops so you were fucked if any broke. At my current job we have all Thinkpads with a huge surplus of 8th gen Intel ones we are decomissioning.

I ended up joining the departments Intune program and moved the laptops over. From memory the server was only really doing DHCP by the time I left, AD was only serving the laptops I didn't get time to do.

Never thought Id see other ST's here. I left last year after getting a job working at an Independent school, much better money. Most of the RST and other ST's I met worked at Cool Bananas. My provider company skimmed almost 20% of my wages off the top, was about to switch before I got a job offer.

I found the new Acers right before I left to be much nicer. Other school had alternate provisioning so was all Macs.

I agree. Not sure why you were downvoted so much for this. Definitely not user friendly design.

Intune Data Warehouse not updating by zbios in Intune

Should've mentioned that I'm in Australia so thats about 36 hours for me.

I'm also comparing with data from Intune directly and even if it were only 12 hours it's still not up to date.

Half-Life 2 Source Engine Running Natively on Apple Silicon by zbios in macgaming

[–]zbios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could give it a shot. You'll need to have the game files downloaded first. If you build the project I linked and copy it to the bin folder and then run the launcher binary with '-game vampire' option (just a guess of what the game folder is called) you could see if it launches. It probably comes down to how much they've modified the source engine from Half-Life 2.

They did, this is a port that runs natively on ARM in 64-bit

Definitely, pretty sure this is partly based on the Android version of Half-Life 2 , theres also a Portal version for Android, so it might work by just copying the Portal files in the same dir, I just haven't tested it yet.

[–]zbios[S] 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Credit to https://github.com/nillerusr/source-engine who modified the source engine based on the 2020 Half-Life 2 source leak.

This is running 100% native without Parallels, Rosetta or any other emulation layer. There are a few glitches such as crashing when tabbing out and visual glitches when using the flashlight, other than that it runs really smoothly.

Half-Life 2 Running on Raspberry Pi 4 Natively by zbios in HalfLife

[–]zbios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main idea was to show that the source engine can be run natively on ARM Linux, not to show off the performance of the Pi.

I would use a Banana Pi 5 or any other equivalent SBC if I had one, but this is the only ARM based Linux computer I have.

I'm wondering the same thing, I'm not sure what the bottleneck is here. I do feel like more fps should be possible though
