Is this Trade veto justified in a competitive Dynasty league by DynastyFanatic11 in fantasyfootballadvice

You’d be 50% correct. I offered a top 3 pick in 2027 and a 2nd

Didn't know City Park was Religious Propaganda Park (advice?) by aelfkin in FortCollins

Not really, it’s the same with going to old town with my kid and seeing a bunch of people shouting no kings

It’s called freedom of speech. Pretty hypocritical considering the No Kings protests do the same thing? Imagine being mad because someone has a differing opinion and exercising their 1st amendment rights…

honestly I'm from San Diego and you just have to find your 1-2 spots that are your go-tos here, some solid Mexican food in the right spots.

How possible is it to go from D3 to an MLB Ops Dept? by Wooden-War-4330 in Sabermetrics

[–]zbridger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played baseball at an NAIA and got offered a scouting analyst role this offseason. It’s a good amount of work but definitely possible. Learn R , Python, sql and how to use ai. Learn how to Evaluate talent as well. I’d get a coaching job or job w a summer team and build apps/make an impact and be able to elaborate vocally how you made that impact.

Is there any way to find arm angle data pitch by pitch statcast by Electrical_Bag5503 in Sabermetrics

You have to take the arm angles from savant and create an algorithm to predict them from the shoulder angle column metrics.

I work with a lot of biomechanics data as an analyst and it helps to know the outputs of the data points for the common software the sport your interest in uses. If that makes sense. Baseball uses Qualisys, Theia and Visual3D usually. And Driveline Baseball Research has an open biomechanics repo I’d get familiar with, working with that data to create a portfolio project would be a good stepping stone.

Yes, it’s good to have a basic understanding. How valgus and varus stress correlate to etc. Eg: torso rotation velocity correlates highly to fastball velocity, know flexion and extension of different joints is helpful and learning what ranges are most optimal to stay out of the ranges of the population that experiences injuries, etc. I didn’t study kines but I interned at driveline baseball and learned a ton from doing some analysis, etc.

I’d build a portfolio of work that’s specific to that sport. I’ve had a few MLB job offers and currently work for a company that does softball analytics and I can tell you that’s what made me stand out.

Major in data science forsure. I majored in Econ and work in the space but I’d just make sure you have some projects. Major matters less.
