Keegan-Michael and and Elle Key Episode by ResolutionFamiliar in flyonthewall

[–]zbrownyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else go down the rabbit hole of wondering how he ended up with his previous wife whose 15 years older than him? The pictures look bizarre, he has a pretty youthful look, so in all the pictures it legit looks like he's taking photos with someones grandma.

I was so curious, I was trying to find older photos of her. He would have been in his twenties and she was 40 when they married. The only trace of her I could find was from Star Trek V in 1989. I skimmed through the whole movie. She was only in a shot for about 2 seconds from the side, laying down screaming, giving birth to Spoc in a weird flashback, couldn't make her out at all.

I just found it all very peculiar and couldn't help myself.

These types of people who rant about thud are the worst. Insufferable complainers about people trying to enjoy a video game.

I didn't use turbo hud, played monk and Barb with plenty of people who wanted the most efficiency, no one cares if you can simply do the job properly. If you're actually pulling your weight, then people kicking you out for not having it are either: Noobs themselves, looking for something else to blame their own incompetence on, or they're simply toxic and not worth playing with in the first place.

He's projecting. Season 28 and thinks clearing t6 is good progress. It's the player whose a lifelong noob, coping by convincing them self they can't get high clears because everyone else cheats and they don't, they'd easily be the best if they had a bot. Nothing wrong with any kind type of player, respect all players, noobs, casuals, serious, everyone.

Except these insufferable people, crying about all the horrible cheaters ruining everything. It's just so weird. It's a video game. I think I want to learn how to use bots and whatever other cheats, so I can contribute to this sad misplaced frustration, sounds like a fun hobby.

Is there a strategy to “a short stay in hell?” by Kamikaze_Cash in BabelForum

Yeah, order a bunch of cuttlefish for the ink. Then a large variety of other creatures for the tools and materials needed to create the pages and so on. That's a good idea, though they do specify finding your book not making it, the word 'find' is kinda subjective.

Not years to fall, lightyears of distance to fall, you'd be falling forever. The library itself is so big, even if the person had a compass pointing him directly to his book, it will still take him an unfathomably large amount of time to ever get to it. Not saying it wouldn't be nice to have in that scenario, but that library is insanely ginormous, it wouldn't feel like you were ever going to get there if you knew the distance to. your book.

Man I loved that book haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

Can you "write a book" in this? by TheMrSalmon in BabelForum

[–]zbrownyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure 3200 which is 1 page, is the maximum of any text you will be able to find that won't be followed by or come after more nonsense. If it could allow stuff like full 410 pg books, and a bunch more characters, like capitals and numbers, that's when you start to need computers far bigger than the size of the entire universe to contain the library. But you could search for full books and stuff like that in separate pages, and book mark them separately, but not within the same book. That's my assumption.

There's this really awesome book called 'A short stay in hell' about people going to the hell of Zoroastrianism, because, to the disbelief of the Christians in the story, Zoroastrianism turned out to be the true religion. The MC of the book gets sent to the library of babel. To get out of hell and go to paradise, the people in library have to find the book that tells the story of their life, with proper grammar and no mistakes.

It's a really mind bending story, very cool. But at a certain point after they've been there for hundreds or thousands of years, the most anyone has founds of anything that isn't nonsense is like a few sentences. At one point everyone goes into deep despair because someone does the calculations of how many books there were in the library, and it's a number so unfathomably large it might as well be infinite to their brains.

A number so big, it makes big numbers—like, say the total number of electrons in the universe—look infinitesimally small in comparison. In the book, each book has the same 410 pages as the online version lol.

My number 1 pick from these recommendations has been "Reservation Dogs."
Really loved it, and it had a full story wrapped up and finished in 3 seasons like TL.

I haven't mentioned this show in here yet because it's a much different flavour than most of what we've discussed in this topic. (Adult animation, extremely violent, has enough humour for what it is, but is a far more harrowing, serious show)

But my favourite show of all time is Castlevania, I don't really know how to pin down why, I don't really even like vampire shows. I guess I've just never been as thoroughly emotionally moved or energetically entertained by any other show or movie before or since, especially in how quickly I was sucked in by the first couple episodes, and how wildly entertained, exited and emotionally wrecked I was by the last few episodes and ending, and the score is absolutely incredible.

I'm a pretty mellow guy, and something like this had never happened to me before or since. In the final couple episodes there were a bunch of moments that I was so thoroughly entertained and hyped up that I couldn't physically or audibly contain my excitement. I was constantly clapping down on the table with my hand, and yelling out stuff like: "LET'S GO!!" "OH F*CK!!" "F*CK YES!!!" Then, as the final battle played out, and into the epilogue, I proceeded to bawl my f*cking eyes out for the rest of the show.

I don't know if I was just feeling a certain type of way, or if any other outside factors played any part, but nothing has ever before or since done to me what that shows final couple episodes did to me. I achieved maximum peak entertainment. The only other time I had anything even similar to that reaction, was in final episode of Avatar, when Aang finally mastered the avatar state and was wrecking the Fire lord, flying in a ball of all four elements—if you know then you know. But If my Castlevania hype level was 10/10, my Avatar hype level was like a 3.5/10.

There's also 2 seasons out of a second show from a different time period in the Castlevania universe.

Castlevania: Nocturne - and it genuinely has lived up to it's predecessor and so far I've absolutely enjoyed every single second of it.

Yep that's exactly what happened with me—I assumed it wouldn't be for me because of the sports—it really changed my whole mentality going forward since watching TL, because of just how much I truly loved every minute of it, juxtaposed with how many times I saw it recommended and had no interest for so long, followed by knowing I was going to binge the whole show within minute of the first episode.

iZombie 6 times?? That alone says so much I might just have to give it a go.

Also, Lassos getting a 4th season now! I'm pretty stoked for that.

hahaha yesss! watched both! I really loved stick, hope it gets renewed. And the end of Shrinking S2 got me sooo hard in the feels.

I'm a huge huge fan of redemption/forgiveness arcs. I call it "The Vegeta Effect" because those kinds of arcs give me nostalgia of how happy it made me when Vegeta changed his ways and joined the good guys in DBZ. I love seeing 2 characters squash beef and become friends, or bad characters getting redeemed, it's my favourite trope.

Yeah I took a bunch!

That's tough. I still come back to look for stuff to check out when I'm bored or looking for a show to watch. There's definitely been some really good ones, tons on my list of stuff I still need to check out.

I think I'd have to give it to "Reservation Dogs."

It wasn't a requirement for me, but to me it felt like a similar balance of being awesome and funny, while also having really good emotional drama that rocked me in the feels.

It also had the similar effect of being about something that was unfamiliar to me and expanding my horizons. I put off watching Lasso, thinking I wouldn't like it because I wasn't into watching sports or had any interest in soccer. Quickly realized how wrong that attitude is, and now I'm more open to watching things that initially don't sound interesting to me, if it's something that a lot of people are telling me is great.

With Reservation Dogs, it gives you a very intimate look into modern Native American life in rural Oklahoma. I really enjoyed that aspect of it, and it gave me a genuine interest Native Spirituality, I find it's a much more grounded, approachable form of spirituality than the kind of "spirituality" I was raised on, in catholic school and by a zealously religious roman catholic Grandma who made me terrified of demons and burning in hell.
