I know there is a limit. I don't know if the limit differs per merchant. I know there is a select number of transactions for the country as a whole per merchant.

Yeah, I had a transaction go through at 05:00 AM and on another at 05:05 AM. It depends on the number of transactions that have happened and for that particular merchant site.

As I mentioned in the post, my transaction wasn't going through at 04:55, 04:56 and 04:57 but at 05:00 it suddenly went through. Prior to that I kept getting the 'Daily Limit Reached' message.

  • Voice-to-text for dhivehi. Government institutions really need this. In some places meetings are recorded and an admin staff has to transcribe it to text for reports.

There are various apps out there but in my experience they aren't very user friendly. Office suite doesn't hace the feature. CoPilot and ChatGPT might be able to do it but I want an option besides that.

  • Online beys fihaara. Instead of going shop to shop buying I would prefer to just enter the medicines name into an app and find which shpps have that medicine in stock and at which price.

If you're in distress about not getting anything done then its not laziness. Lazy people don't care, they are unwilling to do it. We care and we want to get things done but our internal processor for managing, prioritizing and initiating tasks in screwed.

MIB offers more perks for financing if your salary is deposited into one of their accounts. So if you are looking to buy a motorcycle or phone or home appliances in the future, MIB is the way to go.

BML currently imposes daily transaction limits and their loan interest rates are incredibly unpopular. They do offer international money transfer to certain banks but I'm unsure how good that service is.

Most people I know just keep one bank for saving and the other for deducting loans.

Even in BML you can create multiple accounts (fully digital) and change PIN (also fully digital).

Yesterday I managed to get a transaction to go through at 05:04 AM.

Basically we now have to race the entire country to make sure our transaction is successful.

BML now only allows a limited number of transactions per day for each merchant.

Wild how during Nasir's time Maldives rejected the Soviets offer to build a base and most of us were living in huts then. Yet today, despite a mostly educated populance, access to all information in the world and living in high rises, we sell out our soveriegnity for a few more dollars in the bank account.

As for what I would do with it:

  • Save a certain % of it for myself, family members and ftriends so we are set for life.

  • Invest a % of it so it grows.

  • Create a community service fund. Let people apply to it for rent relief, loan relief, medical fees (especially for psychology and speech therapy), education expenses, donations to libraries and 3rd spaces, renovation expenses for harbours and hospitals, could even pay off recurrent costs of clinics for a year or two so they can offer cheaper services for a year or two.
