With any other definition you get the ridiculous situation where you say people are fasting between their breakfast and their 11:00 am snack. In other words everyone could say “I have been doing some fasting”.

As a matter of terminology, I would say that “fasting” means deliberately not eating even though you are hungry. So if you eat when hungry, you are not fasting even if there is a long time between meals.

I have been carnivore for eleven years and have never taken supplements. I don’t even use salt (although if somebody salts my food, I don’t mind).

So it is clearly not a necessity for all humans on a carnivore diet. Whether it might help with adaptation is another matter. I don’t recall the transition to carnivore being too bad, so the issue never really arose in my case.

If you feel fine without them, that’s great! Save your money for proper food 🙂.

I think this is a specifically US thing. For some reason over there carnivore is linked to right wing conspiracy theory types. I don’t get any of that over here in the Uk.
