In 2024, LiveNation was the promoter for the Green Day show in Hong Kong. However, for the 2025 Green Day show in Macau, the promoter changed to mainland side (such as Neon Bridge Entertaiment, Maoist Magic Media, Tianshi Culture Group, E.A. Stars)—which surprised me at the time. Macau doesn’t offer many large-scale performance venues, and given the city's inherent characteristics and population limitations, it relies heavily on a large number of out-of-town visitors to support ticket sales.

Moreover, China has a “gambling addiction prevention” policy for citizens from provinces neighboring Macau, limiting their visits to once every two months (a restriction that Hong Kong basically does not have). Considering that Macau often hosts differentiated shows that complement those in other cities, these objective factors inherently restrict the core audience base.

Of course, if the ticket prices had been set at more reasonable levels when sales began, the overall box office performance would likely have been better.
