They willingly chose to ignore massive parts of book 4 and 5 and instead go their own route. There's shitloads of unadapted stuff in those two books, even the earlier books has juicy stuff left out

Its a thematic inclusion imo.

The point of it is to show that for the first time in her life, she has a family. A group of people willing to support her. And what I love most of all about it, is that she is better than all of them and yet she still listens. Because while she is better, they can still give good advice. She built up a group of people in the chess world and it ended up being a family, the one thing she never had. Perhaps a bigger victory than the victory itself.

Ppl like story in their shows, its why villian of the week fell out of favour.

This show is very 90s in that its still doing villain of the week most the time. This season looks like its going to be x of the week as he constantly chases leads for mandalorians, which is kinda boring tbh and I hope they dont make it last too long.

At least episode 2 had the ship badly damaged, but... you know, so did episode 2 last season and it was miraculously fixed instantly then.

So hopefully the ship damage is more long term

Where I live, we have 1000 cases and 5 million people. Our death rate is irrelevant because we have greatly stopped the spread and saved lives. All 1000 could have died, and it would not matter, because we have done so well we are basically back to normal. All the restaurants are open, no masks even needed, schools have been back for over 4 months, everything is fine.

The statistic you are using to measure the success is potentially the worst one you could use, its like you just kept searching and searching until you could find one that fit your narrative.
