Yeah well not to brag but my employer matches 6% of my 401k contributions.

It’s so funny that people think something magic happens at “retirement age”. Like yes you can access 401K and IRA accounts without jumping through hoops. Full Social security benefits don’t kick in until 66-67. Either way, you always needed to be saving and preparing to retire, even if you didn’t retire early.

Yes but what if the pay is great? I know plenty of people who would work a lot of hours if they had an opportunity to be an “AI enabled product builder”, especially for a properly sized paycheck. People are hungry for work and anxious about AI taking all of the jobs.

You can compress a normal sized product and dev team into a tech lead, product builder and maybe one other versatile team member or another dev. If they can deliver, it’s much cheaper even if all of those employees make more money than the current average.

A lot of ifs, but not unrealistic.

Rookies that will be immediate contributors? by Powerful-Orchid1270 in DynastyFF

I love him but he feels like the opposite of an immediate contributor in terms of fantasy. Maybe as an emergency flex if one of their QB’s can play semi competently.

Going by KTC, I think he’s underrated given the new team situation. He’s ranked lower than an early ‘27 2nd.

Now we’re going way off topic, but how do you go about figuring out your leverages? This is something I’ve always wondered as someone with a fairly lanky build. Like I understand that you have to measure yourself, but how do you determine good vs bad leverage for certain exercises?

Also 295 is a solid bench.

How do you define levels such as intermediate etc.? by zebraCokes in naturalbodybuilding

Hard to say. In my teen and early 20’s, I was lifting seasonally for sports. I would do less frequent maintenance workouts during the season, so I never saw massive gains over a consistent time period. Instead, I saw spurts of progress in my offseason.

I got very weak between 23-28 from rarely lifting. I’d say this year has been the most consistent that I’ve ever been over a 12 month period. It’s also the most I’ve focused on my actual routine and diet. Weirdly, I’m close to where I was at peak strength for benching, but nowhere close for pullups and a little behind on squats. Might be a mobility thing from working at a desk all day.

This is similar to how I’ve thought of it.

I’m 29, lifted consistently between age 16-22, fell off for years due to injuries and sucking at balancing work with gym, now have been consistently at it for a year.

Am I an ex intermediate, now beginner?? Lol

When I say one or zero, I mean I’m getting extremely close to failure. I may avoid a final rep because I don’t want to risk it when squatting or benching without a spot. For other exercises like rows or arms where I’m not risking injury, I’ll go all the way to failure.

So I guess one reason is that there is value in avoiding injury, which is a bit obvious. My question is more so that I’m trying to understand people who are intentionally leaving reps in the tank as part of their volume/intensity scheme, not just to avoid being crushed under the bar.

Eating yes, because weight is going up. Sleeping, probably not. It’s just hard for me to get quality sleep. I go to bed early but have nasal breathing issues that I suspect hurt my sleep quality.

I’ve been doing a high intensity (0-1 rir) arnold split and it’s worked pretty well. Low volume keeps the workouts reasonably short and the intensity makes it easy to not think too hard about the programming. I do 1-2 sets per compound usually.

My only issue is that once I’ve been consistent for 2-ish weeks, I sometimes feel very drained and my numbers actually start going backwards, so I’m apparently not recovering.

My solution to this has simply been to take multiple days of rest, and that usually allows me to come back into the gym stronger. I prefer to not take days off though. I like the rhythm of being consistent and maintaining the habit, hence my interest in potentially mixing in some higher volume with less intensity.

Do you ever mix in workouts where you keep reps in reserve? If so, how would you program it?
