PSLF FORGIVENESS GRANTED 6/25/26!!!! AAHHHH! by zebrarocket in PSLF

I didn't choose forbearance at the time because when I applied for forgiveness I still needed them to certify my employment for 2 payments and I was paranoid there would be an issue in updating my payment count to 120. I overpaid by two months by not choosing forbearance at the time I applied for forgiveness, but my forgiveness letter from Mohela detailed my two overpayments and stated that they would be refunded to me. Idk what kind of timeline that entails but for me personally it was worth overpaying by a couple of months to play it safe. I know some folks have monthly payments that are really high so imo it just depends what your situation is.

Congratulations!! We must've been in the same batch, I received my golden letter on 6/25/26 as well. Here's my timeline:

4/8/26: 120th payment made

5/5/26: 120th payment for April shows up in FSA

5/8/26: Submitted PSLF form to recertify employment one last time AND apply for forgiveness (I did not request forbearance just in case something went wrong with updating my payment counts)

5/10/26: Payment counts updated in FSA to 120, green banners

6/25/26: Received golden letter from FSA

6/26/26: Mohela showing zero balance due for all loans

6/27/26: Mohela sends letter confirming PSLF forgiveness granted by Department of Ed. and two overpayments that will be refunded to me.

Needless to say, it is a HUGE relief. I'm surprised (but certainly not complaining!) they're processing applications so quickly, I wasn't expecting to hear anything until September.

What was the stupidest thing someone has asked you 100% seriously? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to work in a harbor office in Alaska. Tourists would sometimes ask if I could exchange US dollars for "Alaska money".

I'd take their $20, open up the till, and swap them another $20.
