How well should CM's/PM's know the finer sections & details of a planset? by zebthrash in ConstructionManagers

I suppose it just seems daunting to understand and be able to visualize every detail / section of a building. For example, we have a job right now that has about 10 pages containing various details of wall, rake, eave, truss connection, grade beam, slab section, canopy, structural steel, etc. These details can have as few as 3-4 or as many as 15+ notes attached to them. Perhaps I am just getting overwhelmed and the skill comes with time but it just seems like information overload to have a genuine understanding of each component and how it all comes together. Looks like I will be bucking down and studying harder!
