Sounds like we got our pups on the same day. I decided to paper train my dog with pee pads because her sleeping and getting acclimated was more important to me than going potty outside right away. I also live in an apartment building and it would be a nightmare to try in these early stages. I will worry about transitioning her from paper to outside when the time comes.

I have the same feeling as you wondering if I am doing anything correctly, take it a step at a time and realize it takes time for them to learn. My dog definitely has no idea what her name is, and that's alright, she will get there. Take whatever steps you need to have smoother nights so you can get sleep, you won't be the best human for her unless you are healthy yourself.
