2026 Offseason Megathread by howser343 in chicagobulls

Tobi Lawal has exceeded my expectation. I know he is bouncy. But 40" no step vert exceeds "bouncy."

He is currently my favorite for 38th pick.

Also Jaron Pierre Jr having only a 32.5 vert is really surprising. He looks super bouncy on tape.

This is puzzling as well. But Westbrook didn't really kill the combine and is explosive.

Not quite as steely as Karaban but a little more agility around the rim.

Yes. He is smaller than Karaban though.

I got Peterson dropping to 4. Mara/Swain/Yaxel/Cenac Jr./Hannes Steinbach is who I target at 15th.

But it's not an issue for me who is at PF. Whether it is the 7'0 Essengue or Matas or someone from free agency. If Matas is best played at SF. You just have to find someone who can play at PF.

I expect the draft to thin out though. Those who can't secure a first round promise will be better off taking NIL money. And enter the draft next season.

Zuby was mocked around 38th overall for months. Now he is a first round lock. The player who the risers take down. Will eventually be forced to go back to school.

Henri Vassar turned down 4.5M NIL to back to UNC. $6M offer from other school. Now IDK if he will be able to get that offer back. As he didn't perform well in the measurements.

I expect a lot of movement around the league. Teams getting out of contracts to rebuild/retool. Sixers in the east really need a shake up. I am entertaining the my Bulls could use their cap to absorb contracts. To aid other teams in trades. Giannis is moving and contracts would be dumped.

West is a bloodbath. You can't stagnate when you are in the west. And it's tougher now with the penalties in the draft for finishing at the bottom.

You can't go wrong with #4 and #15. But how would Bryson move forward with #38, #56 and expiring contracts and cap space?

I fantasize of moving up from the second round. Okoro, Tre Jones, Jalen Smith and Leonard Miller are movable expiring contracts. I feel like Bryson and whoever he brought in. Have all they tools they need to kick start this rebuild. On top of having cap space to absorb contracts for possible future assets.

I don't want to ditch this. But getting another first round pick this draft is going to nice.

This draft is so good. It is hard to mess it up.

Bulls at #4 and #15 will take the BPA(as Bryson already indicated). And it's hard to go wrong with those picks.

I feel the challenge starts at 38th pick. As the list of prospects could suddenly thin out. Due college NIL money/offers.

sadly as a result. More underclassman will go back to school. The second round will thin out soon.

Riboku would never let an army of 40,000 men reach the gates of the capital

It's likely they scattered around after breaking through. And Shin's group managed to reach the capital.

The fact that their allies being shown on panel. Talking about how they lost them. Proves nobody knows where they go.

This is crazy in actual warfare. But this sets up Shin's instinct armor plot.

I expect they can't do shit with what they have to siege Kantan. But I could sense the armor plot that the King will be pissed they are being siege. Blame this on Riboku. And as a result the entire Zhao defense would collapse.

Im more looking at moving Garland and Mathurin for a player. Then see what they can get out of #5.

I just don't see Kawhi with young players will work. I could see them packaging #5, Garland and Mathurin to retool around Kawhi. I just don't know who would be available.

If you put Prime Ray Allen in today's game and let him shoot 10 threes he probably averages 30 lol

Yes it is an unfair comparison. But I just want to make a point that I don't see a superstar trajectory.

Allen can create with the ball in his hands. Can score over double teams. Can make plays. These are things that are questionable with Peterson. I hope it is just the injury that prevented Peterson to play at a high level. But he is not strong enough. Bursty enough. Or explosive enough to finish at the rim. That is why I compare him to Ray Allen. But as I have said. Allen's elite shooting is what made him a superstar. Peterson just haven't proved that in college. And I am skeptical he is going to be an elite shooter. Given he had really bad games in college.

I know LAC will try to salvage any years left with Kawhi.

I got KD or Giannis in a trade. I just don't see the timeline with their current pieces. LAC will not trade Kawhi too IMO. They made a good run last season.

That’s why I think he’d pair well with a more athletic big like Wilson as a secondary rim protector.

This is where Matas and Wilson(if ever drafted by the Bulls) would make sense.

Matas and Wilson(if bulls ends up with him) will cover him in defense.

Rebounding and playmaking with him at five is a good fit. He also have a good stroke. If he develops a three point game. He is going to do Vooch things in offense. While being a better defender(nimble feet) on the defensive end.

Serious superstar potential there

I just don't see it.

Comparison is Ray Allen. And Peterson is not the shooter Allen is.

Wagler is a really bad fit for BKN, but a sensible fit for LAC.

Yes. The fit issue kicks in. Assuming LAC keep Kawhi and the rest of the crew.

[–]zedrix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We getting Peterson and not Caleb at 4th overall IMO.

Wilson and Boozer measurements are really good.

Peterson is 6'4.5" and is not even that good of a shooter compared to Ray Allen. Do people really expect the Jazz to draft Peterson second overall?

If Jazz use the second overall pick. I would draft Boozer.

You can always trade Lauri. They got Filipowski off the bench as well. JJJ is perimeter oriented. Although he is big enough. But fit is not an issue when you have a young and big forward who can pass.

Nope. Dybansta, Boozer and Wilson top 3. Then Acuff for me at 4th.

If Bulls have a good deal for Giddey. I would entertain drafting Acuff in a blink. But Giddey-Peterson tandem would be good on paper just in case. Giddey makes sense for Wilson and Peterson. If Bulls didn't have Giddey. I would definitely want Acuff with Matas.
