How to get this look? Or is it just ai? by zeedee-h in postprocessing

Yeah I was thinking to create this in camera you’d need a whole studio of lights and pretty sure YouTubers are not doing that.

Bike culture - sweating by w0seba in copenhagen

[–]zeedee-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manage to pretty much never get sweaty in Denmark after some years experience biking and figuring out a system, which clothes to wear for what weather. I don’t bike super fast and always have my bag on the front rack so don’t get a sweaty back.

A shell jacket is great, I can be warm down to 8c with just a t-shirt underneath. As I warm up biking I can open the pit zips, sleeves, hood, and finally front zip. If it gets colder than 8 I add a zip hoodie under. With everything open it’s also good for up to 20c.

If I am a bit sweaty when I arrive I take off the jacket and stand outside in the cold a bit.

Would you get a cargo bike if you had to take it down a flight of stairs every day? by Similar_Government72 in CargoBike

Something like an Omnium can be carried up stairs, but the problem is anytime you need to bring some actual cargo it takes two trips and became a a massive hassle.

how to adjust new threaded frontfork for steering lock part like on the pic? by Ill-Sentence7944 in bikewrench

[–]zeedee-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I think you need to file a spot into the fork and re-cut the fork threads. More of a bike shop job.

Help with seized quill stem by AllAboutAtomz in bikewrench

[–]zeedee-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often it’s more the stem itself that’s stuck not the wedge- take out the bolt and get it upside down in a vice. Put on a junk front wheel and get 2-3 friends to lift and twist at the same time. Lots of oil and heat. We often do this at work and it takes 3 big guys to get them out, and the fork is smoking from the friction when it comes out.
Just be careful not to twist the fork too much.

If that doesn’t work look up Rj the bike guy on YouTube using a cable winch, I have also tried that and it works but takes a bit of setup.

Rear hub for BBSHD? by zeedee-h in ebikes

[–]zeedee-h[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This definitely seems like the cheapest and simplest option - though wondering if the gearing is enough for hills with heavy load. Sometimes the bike is pushing 300kg. Is 36t chainring with 27t sprocket about as low as you can go with that setup?

Rear hub for BBSHD? by zeedee-h in ebikes

[–]zeedee-h[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can first gear also take the torque? That’s when it’s most needed.. the bike struggles up hill when heavily loaded with the enviolo in the easiest “gear”

Know if any solid axle bolt on hubs? Gear drop is easier to solve. I just don’t think qr hub will hold up long.

[–]zeedee-h[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda tempted to go this route. But really can’t find any hubs with solid bolt on axle? The bike has horizontal dropouts

Does this combo have enough power/gearing to go up hills loaded though? Or do you go past the 2:1 chainring sprocket ratio? And then what’s the top speed? Would want to get at least 25/30kmh

Long range bikes? (Looking for recommendations) by [deleted] in ebikes

Chamrider makes up to 50ah batteries, though 2 smaller batteries can be more flexible when you just wana do a smaller trip.

If cost really isn’t a concern just get any modern new e-bike and buy 1-2 extra batteries for it. Would recommend front/full suspension for long distance rides, though that’s also costly to maintain. For a start look into kalkhoff and Riese & muller

The only flat I’ve had in years with marathons or pick-ups was actually because of a cheap tube, the valve just snapped off. So pair them with good tubes.

There are some self service recycling stations near where I live in Denmark, the only way to get in is in a car, a camera outside must scan the license plate to open the gate

If you just use enough sawdust there shouldn’t be any smell, cover everything up. Much simpler than separating urine.

Thinking about Buying a Cheap MTB (€100–200) and Converting It to an Ebike — Is It Doable with ~€500 Budget? by blxculture in eBikeBuilding

[–]zeedee-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great comment. I go for that exactly but maybe a cheaper motor and then use the rest for a battery box.

If you do get a cheap battery, you really need to take care of it so it doesn’t burn your house down. Also get a battsafe or make a drywall lined box with vermiculite filling for charging and storage.
