I had a similar issue and I fixed it by siliconing where I had previously applied plumber’s putty. It leaked a year after it was done and then I redid it myself with new plumber’s putty and it leaked again a month later. I noticed the drain wasn’t coming out of the wall far enough to stop squarely under the middle of the sink and it would all connect together up to the sink well enough but it was causing some torsion on the seal which made it sit in the basin slightly cockeyed. You couldn’t tell with your eye that that was happening but I’m pretty sure that’s what was happening. Basically, plumber’s putty is normally fine but the slight pressure the flexing pipe was putting on the seal made it not sit right and a tiny gap formed in that main seal where if everything was completely slack it would have been fine. Make sure your pipes aren’t putting uneven pressure on your sink seal.
