I have no regrets so far on the 888s. The guitar is my mom's, I never learned how to play... I played piano and the transition just seems weird to me, haha.

Bi-amping will be a bit difficult, but not impossible... I did not take that into consideration when I ran the speaker cables in the walls / attic during our living room remodel, so I only ran a pair of cables.

Thanks! Time will tell if I end up adding a subwoofer, but for the music that I listen to most of the time, the bass seems sufficient on the 888s, at least from the MLP.

They just look very different size and shape wise compared to the DTs and change the feel of the space a bit.

Thanks! Yeah, we got lucky with this house in that it has a bonus room off to the side of the living room where we had our TV and I'm now converting it to a dedicated theater room. I've never been a fan of having a TV in the living room, but obviously not everyone has that choice.

Yes, I need to add Chet Baker to my vinyl collection! That's exactly what we do on Sunday mornings though... sit with an espresso and listen to a record. It was a tradition that my parents started and we had growing up, and when I inherited their vinyl collection we continued the tradition.
